Meeting of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky with the youth of the republic took place at the site of the cultural and educational center at PSU. The format is debatable. Representatives of more than a dozen organizations and associations, approximately 250 people were invited to talk with the PMR President. Welcoming the interlocutors, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the role of youth in the development of the state. He emphasized that the hour is not far off when the young people gathered in the hall will become the main participants in the processes taking place in the country, they will manage, continuing the formation of the Pridnestrovian society. The President noted with satisfaction the fact that young people living in Pridnestrovie unequivocally consider themselves citizens of the PMR, Pridnestrovians. Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the high level of patriotism among the youth of the republic and the uniqueness of Pridnestrovie. He focused on the preconditions and historical aspects of the creation of the Pridnestrovian state, emphasizing that it is important for every citizen who respects himself and his country to have the entire volume of reliable information. In the conversation with young people they recalled the 1992 war, talked about the specific approach of the Republic of Moldova to the negotiation process, about the upcoming parliamentary elections in the neighboring state and the possible impact of their results on relations between the two republics. They talked about the modern foundations of the Pridnestrovian statehood.
The participants of the meeting were interested in the epidemic situation, asked the opinion of the President regarding the prospects for the end of the coronavirus pandemic, and also asked questions about when the vaccination campaign will reach young people, noting that students want to protect themselves by taking a vaccination course. When asked about the causes of the pandemic, Vadim Krasnoselsky replied that it is a fait accompli and for him as the head of the country at the time of its announcement there was no time and no reason to deal with the original source of the virus as such (on global scale), it was much more important to launch an effective fight mechanism in a timely manner with the spread of COVID-19 within the republic. Vadim Krasnoselsky said that there was no clear algorithm of actions. They acted according to the circumstances. As time shows the right path was chosen.
The Capital Investment Fund program was discussed. The interlocutors of the President noted that they see infrastructural changes, thanked for the attention to the university, and clarified further plans. Students' special hopes are connected with the transformation of the campus. The President said that the plans include not only the repair and equipping of hostels, but also the improvement of the territory with the organization of recreational, leisure and sports zones. Vadim Krasnoselsky called the activity on the infrastructural renewal of settlements one of the manifestations of patriotism, stressing that in order to achieve a practical result, one should not reason, but work.
Among the topics raised during the meeting were personal observations of young people. The President was told about examples of inadequate equipment of some medical institutions. The internship mechanism for graduates of the medical faculty of Pridnestrovian State University was discussed. It was concluded in the conversation that there was insufficient interaction between the Ministry of Health and students of the specialized direction. Vadim Krasnoselsky instructed to organize a collective meeting of the leadership of the department with senior students of the medical faculty of the state university and medical colleges.
Words of gratitude were addressed to the country's leadership for supporting the initiative to create a search unit "Memory and Glory" on the basis of the Zvezda (Star) youth movement. They talked about the fact that have already started practical activities with the assistance of the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defense. At the same time, the young people drew attention to the incompleteness of the legal framework governing the search direction, noting that they would like to clearly understand the legal framework of their work. They said that they expect to cooperate with experienced search engines.
They spoke at the meeting that the Pridnestrovian youth (in non-pandemic circumstances) actively participates in various international forums and congresses. They talked about the importance of such sites for gaining new knowledge, making acquaintances, developing new directions. Young people suggest organizing similar large-scale events on the territory of the republic, which will increase the involvement of local children, as well as draw attention to Pridnestrovie from citizens of other states. The activists declared their readiness to take on many organizational issues on the basis of volunteering. Another issue in the context of volunteer activity is the creation of volunteer passport (by analogy with the Russian Federation), entries in which could give some preferences for admission, for example, to educational institutions. A package of relevant proposals will be prepared on the recommendation of Vadim Krasnoselsky. It was decided in addition to hold a large volunteer seminar in the near future.
The problem of obtaining citizenship of other states by Pridnestrovians, in particular Russian was discussed today. They talked about creating conditions for physical education and sports, as well as supporting promising athletes traveling outside the republic to participate in international competitions. It was noted that some sports areas are deprived of financial attention from the state. The President was thanked for the re-equipment of the Tiraspol city basin. At the same time, the problem that professional swimmers faced was voiced. The city pool is 25 meters long, and training on "big water" is necessary to prepare for serious international competitions. Athletes use the 50-meter pool of the Sheriff on a paid basis. They ask for an opportunity to train at this base on preferential terms. The rowing base in Dubossary was also mentioned today. Vadim Krasnoselsky informed about the planned reconstruction and upcoming re-equipment of this and other facilities.
Young people are concerned about the country's environmental safety. They raised issues related to the collection, removal, disposal and organization of household waste processing. They discussed the condition of the roads, naming specific addresses of problem areas. They talked about flaws in the drainage system. Another issue of concern to the young generation of Pridnestrovians is the outflow of youth from the republic. They talked about the measures taken to return home children studying in foreign universities. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that this cannot be done by force. There are no legal instruments either. The only solution is to create attractive and comfortable living conditions in the republic, the President considers.
They raised the problem of personnel aging in the educational sphere during the conversation with the President, noting that young people do not go to work in schools, kindergartens, and cultural institutions. They asked to revive the Yunost cinema in the Balka neighborhood of the capital.
They asked about the measures taken by the state to control the information disseminated on social networks, emphasizing that its quality and content sometimes does not stand up to scrutiny. Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that modern means of communication have many advantages, including accessibility, mass audience and promptness of information. As for control, this is the activity of specialized services, and it is carried out in a working order, emphasized Vadim Krasnoselsky.
The President was asked questions about the family, relationships with children and grandchildren. Speaking about parental advice, he said that he had recommended that children receive applied education, preserve family ties and ties with their native land.
