The Minister of Healthcare and the Head of the Department of Construction, Architecture and Road Facilities of the Ministry of Economic Development also took part in the offsite meeting. The PMR President asked why the funds allocated last year were not spent on time, what is the financing for the current year, and what will be the procedure for further actions. The PMR President visited the karting track. As you know, the passion for karting among the residents of Grigoriopol began in 1975. The sports and entertainment sector had periods of active development and calm. Karting became an official sport in Pridnestrovie in 2018. The infrastructure modernizing started then. They replaced and expanded the asphalt surface of the route in 2021, bringing it to international standards. 22 units of equipment were purchased. A karting sports school was created in 2022. They built boxes for storing karts and workshops, equipped classrooms and an office for trainers and teachers. They constructed a fence around the perimeter of the facility and installed bump stops along the highway. The grandstand for 200 people were constructed last year, using the 4 million rubles allocated from the Capital investment fund 2023. The under-tribune rooms have been thought out. Judges' towers were built. The project includes commentary rooms, a medical unit, a cafe, and a bathroom. The work continues and is scheduled to be completed this year. The karting track opened the 2024 season last weekend. Fans of active recreation are welcome from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Three groups have been formed to train professional sportsmen. The classes are attended by 30 people, five of them are girls, the President was told today.
Another sports facility that is being reconstructed with the constant attention of the President is the rowing base. Rowing has also been cultivated in Grigoriopol for a long time, since the early 60s of the last century. The infrastructure and equipment did not meet modern demands. 4.7 million rubles were allocated for the construction of a boathouse and transition gallery, replacement of the roof and repair of the existing building in 2023 under the capital investment program. Work is underway. New things have appeared: thanks to presidential support, additional pieces of equipment have appeared at the Grigoriopol rowing base – a boat, a single kayak and a canoe. They purchased a trailer for transporting a boat. Work is underway on launching equipment. The river bottom has been cleared in a section 60 meters long and 20 meters wide. The raised sand is used to improve the beach area. Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention to the need to improve the area adjacent to the rowing base. He asked about quantity of pupils. 34 persons are engaged in kayaking and canoeing at the moment. Participants of the offsite meeting expressed confidence that their number will increase significantly with the completion of work to update the infrastructure of the sports facility.
