Progress in the improvement and development of the urban environment of Bendery was discussed today. The Head of Bendery state administration Roman Ivanchenko reported on the interim results, plans and developments. He spoke about the current stage of the reconstruction of the Dniester river embankment and the Oktyabrsky park located within its boundaries, which began last year. The sidewalks will be paved this year. There should be more of them than before. This is the recommendation of the President. The number of swings and gazebos will also be increased. The so-called quiet zones will be equipped – areas where they can conduct classes for schoolchildren and kindergarteners. The Head of the city is sure that these locations will also be in demand as platforms for creativity among beginners and professional artists. Attention will be paid to lighting the embankment and landscaping. The irrigation system will appear. Rose plantations will be preserved, improved and expanded. Zones for planting rare exotic plants have been planned. An important object for a place with active attendance is a public restroom. It was taken into consideration as well. Road works are being carried out along the embankment at the same time.
As for putting the central part of the city in order, we are talking about three main streets: Lenin, Suvorov and Sovetskaya. As for Lenin Street, the work has been completed. Sovetskaya Street – from the bus station to the "Victoria" shopping center. They will start with the laying of communications – the electricity and water supply systems will be updated. Paving and improvement of recreation areas come then. The decoration will be a little less classic in this part of the city. Preference was given to modern forms. Most of the green spaces will remain. Traditional roses are also used. Vadim Krasnoselsky considers it extremely important to put this part of Bendery in order, since the movement of citizens here is very active: the high traffic area – it combines clothing and green markets, a shopping center, a clinic.
The President emphasized that the infrastructural transformation of settlements should be based on the requests of citizens and with the active participation of local authorities. The state supports large projects within the framework of the Capital Investment Fund program, but the municipal budget should also be a real source of funding. They will continue the transformation of the square that was laid out for the 10th anniversary of the Bendery City Department of Internal Affairs at the expense of internal resources. There is already a playground there. The youth leisure zone will be expanded and equipped. The number of swings will increase, a path for cyclists, roller skaters and skaters will be laid. They will allocate a site for extreme skiing, dividing beginners and professionals. Workout zones have become an obligatory component of such objects. It will also be equipped in the park. There will be table tennis made in Pridnestrovie. Therefore, there will be more open table tennis zones in the cities and villages of the republic, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted.
Discussing the presidential instruction on the maximum coverage of micro-districts of Pridnestrovian cities and villages of the republic with leisure and sports infrastructure, Khomutyanovka and Lipkany were mentioned. These districts of Bendery are top priority. It is planned to create park zones there already this year at the expense of the city budget. A sports and recreational facility will be built using municipal funds in the Leninsky microdistrict, near the 11th school. A similar one will appear near school No. 15 (Kavkaz microdistrict), but already within the framework of the state capital investment program.
