The President participated in the work of the Collegium of the PMR Investigative Committee

The PMR Investigative Committee held a board meeting. The reporting period is 2021. The information was heard by the PMR President. The leaders and representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the Supreme Council, the courts of the republic, a number of ministries and departments, heads of departments of the Investigative Committee of the PMR were invited to discuss the reporting information. They communicated via video call. Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vyacheslav Brynzar made a report.

The Head of the department noted the continuing downward trend in crime. 3799 criminal cases worked out in total during 2021 by investigators of the Investigative Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. 517 discontinued (this is the lowest figure in 9 years). At the same time, 3% more criminal cases were sent to court than a year earlier. These data, according to Vyacheslav Brynzar, indicate an improvement in the quality of the investigation. This is evidenced by the decrease in the number of acquitted persons. The chairman of the committee noted that in order to further improve the performance indicators, the interaction of the Investigative Committee with the prosecutor's office has been established on a systematic basis, joint meetings are held. Vyacheslav Brynzar said that in the reporting period, 46 employees of the Investigative Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic were brought to disciplinary responsibility, 82 were deprived of bonus payments.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic focused on the tightening of control over the investigation of criminal cases on grave and especially grave crimes and gave examples from the practice of the reporting period. He spoke about some of the most resonant cases. He focused on crimes of an economic and tax nature, noting that an important aspect is compensation for property damage following an investigation. Vyacheslav Brynzar focused on corruption-related crimes. There were more than seven dozen of those in the work, half was sent to court.

Vyacheslav Brynzar singled out among the current problems the duration of the investigation. 24% out of the 580 criminal cases remaining at the beginning of 2022 exceed the 6-month period of preliminary investigation. Among the reasons are quarantine restrictions and the duration of some examinations. At the same time, the Head of the committee considers the equipment of the forensic laboratory to be an important achievement. The experts of the Investigative Committee conducted 18 fingerprint, 27 investigative, 24 handwriting, 17 technical and forensic examinations of documents, 5 forensic ballistics, 10 examinations of knives, the speaker said, noting that among them were those that were classified as especially complex in 2021.

The speaker named the employees who were included in the top ten investigators at the end of the year, noting that there were young specialists among them. The best divisions are also named. The top three are the Kamenka, Tiraspol and Rybnitsa departments of the Investigative Committee. He spoke about the interaction of the Investigative Committee with the operational services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of State Security, the Ministry of Defense and the State Customs Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. He paid attention to the measures that are being taken to improve the service infrastructure and technical equipment of the units of the Investigative Committee of the PMR.

Prosecutor of the PMR Anatoly Guretsky focused on some aspects of the activities of the Investigative Committee.

The President spoke about both local and systemic problems. He emphasized that any kind of complaints that are voiced are working moments that require discussion and resolution in the current mode. In general, the activities of the Investigative Committee at the end of 2021 were recognized as satisfactory. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed his gratitude to the personnel of the Investigative Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for their service, calling the committee an important segment of the structure of the law enforcement agencies of the republic and aiming for further work in close and productive cooperation with other departments.
