The decade of spring voluntary Saturday work days started. Today, employees of government agencies worked on voluntary basis. The working area was Bendery fortress. The management and specialists of the Presidential Executive Office planted the park of Alexander Nevsky, representatives of the PMR Government arranged the infrastructure of the citadel in order, the staff of the Supreme Council did general cleaning in the temple of Alexander Nevsky and landscaped the area. Young participants of the voluntary Saturday work were cadets and pupils of Suvorov military school, as well as children of employees.
Participants of the event were welcomed by the President. He arrived to the Saturday work with his wife Svetlana Krasnoselskaya.
“I want to recall the events of a year ago, when the staff of the Presidential Executive Office, representatives of the PMR Government and the Supreme Council together with the Cadets and pupils of Suvorov military school participated in the first voluntary Saturday work day. It was the end of April last year. Everyone remembers this picture. It was a bare field without black soil. We then made the first attempt to plant trees. These were coniferae, perennial plants. Then began in fact the construction of the park of Alexander Nevsky. After a year we see the results. Together we built the park - a good resting place for people. The practice of holding events at this venue, its attendance suggests that the park is in demand among Pridnestrovians and tourists. Today we are here again - we are establishing order, we plant shrubs. We are again contributing to the improvement and development of the park, making it even more convenient and attractive for citizens”, said Vadim Krasnoselsky. His wife drew attention to the fact that so many people responded to the invitation to take part in the voluntary Saturday work. According to Svetlana Krasnoselskaya, it’s valuable that parents came with their children, introducing them to work, demonstrating their desire to contribute to the common cause: “This park was not built as a beautiful picture, but as a place where people would really come and relax soul, distracting from study, work. Lawns are sown in order to rest, trees are planted to clean the air. Everything is done so that the children play here, the parents are with the children. It is symbolic that the children came with their parents, that the little ones see how it is landscaped, and this is for them. Later, they will probably do the same for their children, and will love this place in which they invested their labor”.
The President and his wife spoke about the revival of the tradition of voluntary Saturday work, as nurturing and unifying factor. In the campaign of the First President of the PMR Igor Smirnov and the Head of State Administration of Bendery Roman Ivanchenko, they planted a tree-like peony, red gorse, hibiscus, white, red coralberry. In total, a hundred bushes were planted during the voluntary Saturday work day.
