The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky held a working meeting with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and the State Sports Service. There are several issues on the agenda: five-day week in schools, preparation of educational institutions for the new academic year and physical exercises for schoolchildren.
Minister of Education Svetlana Ivanishina said that there are 4190 first-graders (92 of which are Ukrainian refugees) this academic year. Nearly all of them received 100 USD in financial assistance. The president asked the minister about refugees from Ukraine. Figures at the end of the last academic year – 350 people studied in schools, more than 200 children in preschool educational institutions.
The commission confirmed that all educational institutions underwent the test, regarding the schools, gymnasiums and lyceums evaluation, with the exception of a school in the village of Ulma (Rybnitsky district). The building is in a state of disrepair and classes cannot be held there until major repairs. There are 26 students at the school: 10 of them will study in the building of a rural kindergarten, classes have been equipped there, 16 more children will be taken to school in the city of Rybnitsa. The rest of the educational institutions were put in order, everything was repaired and painted. A general remark – not everywhere there is a fire alarm, repair of catering units and gyms is necessary.
They talked about the five-day period in schools. It is introduced from this academic year. A number of meetings were held at the Ministry of Education earlier on behalf of President Vadim Krasnoselsky. All grades 5 to 11 move to a five-day school week from September 1st. The President proposed: to take schoolchildren on excursions around Pridnestrovie on Saturday, to conduct electives on the history of Pridnestrovie.
A lot was said about sports in the course of the meeting. Vadim Krasnoselsky instructed the Ministry of Education and the State Sports Service in May 2023 to develop a set of exercises for students in grades 1-4, grades 5-8, grades 9-11. The goal is to prevent postural disorders, scoliosis in children. A working group was created, which included the State Service for Sports, Pridnestrovian State University named after Shevchenko, trainers-teachers. A set of exercises has been developed. Documents will be sent to schools. They will gather teachers and organize their training during the week. Physical minutes will be held for schoolchildren then.
