One of the issues on the agenda of today's video conference between the President and the heads of state administrations is the regulation of stray animal populations. This issue has been raised repeatedly at various discussion forums. The overall conclusion is that its solution must be systemic. Bendery was the first to implement this socially significant project programmatically. Roman Ivanchenko reported on the progress made. The head of the department explained that a registry of domestic dogs is currently being compiled. Five teams are working on it. Specialists have visited Giska and Protyagaylovka. They are currently collecting information and microchipping animals with owners in the city's private sector. About three hundred domestic dogs have already been registered. Stray animals are being captured for sterilization meanwhile. Twenty-four stray animals have undergone the procedure, each with a special tag. In addition, animals from the municipal shelter will be sterilized. Roman Ivanchenko reported that renovations are underway at this facility. Floors have been poured. Fifteen cages have been prepared. A total of approximately fifty cages are needed for the center to be fully operational. The city's animal census and population management program is proceeding smoothly and quite actively, stated Roman Ivanchenko. The President recommended that the heads of other cities and districts in the republic study and adopt Bendery's experience in this area.
Other city and district issues were discussed in the course of the meeting. The head of Slobodzeya district reported that leaks had been discovered in the roofs of several educational institutions as a result of heavy rains. Repairs are underway. The leaders of Tiraspol and Bendery reported on events held and planned for this week as part of the city's name day celebrations.
