The President held a video conference

A discussion of the state of affairs in the energy sector opened the traditional Monday morning video conference under the President. The PMR Deputy Chairman of the Government Sergey Obolonik reported that the situation has not changed since last week and remains stably tense after the implementation of prompt measures. Resources are being supplied in a soft economy mode. All energy sector enterprises are operating. Generation at the state district power plants (GRES) is fueled by coal and fuel oil. Temperatures in residential areas of apartment buildings and schools (without centralized heat supply) are maintained at 18-19 degrees Celsius on the south side, and 16 degrees Celsius on the north side or in the shade. Warm weather for early March is having a beneficial effect. Schoolchildren have had their lessons shortened. Further decisions will be made based on the evolving situation.

Vadim Krasnoselsky specifically discussed the operational readiness of local boiler houses. He mentioned among other things the purchase of two boilers for the the Hospital of Bendery — the Mother and Child Center in Bendery, the city hospital, and the tuberculosis hospital. Its operation requires the construction of a boiler room with the accompanying infrastructure. The PMR President urged that the project development be expedited.

Another topic raised by Vadim Krasnoselsky was the cleanup of populated areas after the snow melts. The president has instructed that a large-scale nationwide cleanup day be held. The cleanup-day term is tentative, as this is not a one-time event for everyone, but a whole series of events involving teams from state and municipal agencies, departments, and institutions. Government employees will traditionally clean up not only departmental areas but also parks, squares, and embankments. Deputies together with house committees will organize collective cleanups in courtyards. Legal entities are required to clean up areas near their commercial properties. Relevant state administrations, businesses, and services are required to ensure that cemeteries and access roads to them are in good condition. Cleaning and landscaping work will run from the second half of March until the Easter holidays.

Heads of state administrations reported on progress in roadwork. The current focus is on pothole repair.
