Today, the President urged all doctors to hope for the best, but to prepare for the worst. He held an extended videoconference, inviting the heads of the Operational Headquarters, Government of Pridnestrovie, the Ministry of Health, relevant services and medical institutions of the country, as well as heads of state administrations to the working conversation. The main theme is the readiness of the healthcare sector to withstand coronavirus in case of its massive spread among the population of Pridnestrovie. The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues in this context. Vadim Krasnoselsky, recalling the measures taken by the state to prevent rampant COVID-19, said that Pridnestrovian medicine should be ready for a large flow of patients. The republican coronavirus hospital, which was quickly created on the basis of the Slobodzeya hospital, has proved its effectiveness (268 patients have passed through it) and is still managing the flow, but its capabilities are limited to three hundred beds. When the hospital is filled by two-thirds, the time will come for the transition to the next stage of the Pridnestrovian anti-coronavirus program - the territorial distribution of infectious diseases hospitals, the President informed today. Head doctors and heads of city and district administrations were tasked with preparing bases in case of mass infection of the local population. The issue is becoming increasingly relevant, there is nowhere to put off, emphasized Vadim Krasnoselsky. He informed the interlocutors about the inspection field visits and his own intermediate conclusions. At the same time, the President emphasized that it was important for him to hear opinions and practical suggestions. Tomorrow, the Minister of Health will present a summary of the information. The President aimed to think about the possibility of isolated living of doctors working with patients with coronavirus.
Taking into consideration the non-standard situation, the President took over the overall management of the healthcare system. Having informed the chief doctors about this, Vadim Krasnoselsky said that from today all current orders of the Ministry of Health are being discussed, that is, the heads of medical institutions and their units, ordinary specialists can and must be involved in the formation of a legal base. Vadim Krasnoselsky called on physicians and the administration of the Ministry of Health for consolidation, dialogue, activity and responsibility.
