The President held a working meeting with the head of Tiraspol. Oleg Dovgopol reported to the PMR President on the implementation of a number of infrastructure projects. It was about the reconstruction of the city stadium, swimming pool, ice rink, Pobeda (Victory) Park and the botanical garden. The renovated facilities will form a single sports and leisure complex in one of the central parts of the city. They discussed in addition the creation of a museum quarter, which will become an important component of the Catherine Park.
The stadium of Tiraspol was handed over to the city last year. It had the status of a republican previously and was administered by the State Service for Sports. The head of the city administration said that a phased project for the reconstruction of this facility has been developed. 17 million rubles have been allocated from the Capital Investment fund this year, and additional funding from the local budget is also provided. It is planned to build a parking lot along Mira Street and equip the team sports sector, where modern basketball, volleyball, badminton courts will be created, as well as a workout zone and a sector for physical education classes with students of the state university at the expense of these funds in 2023. It is planned to complete the reconstruction of the ice rink, located in close proximity to the stadium by the City Day, October 14, 2023.
Reconstruction of the main stand of the stadium is planned for the next year, while maintaining its foundation. The remaining three stands, deemed unusable, will be demolished. It is planned to replace the cover of the central football field and build rooms with changing rooms, showers and training rooms under the stands. Oleg Dovgopol shared his plans for the future: there is an idea to build an indoor complex for team sports. The estimated timeframe for its implementation is 2025-2026. Further plans include the reconstruction of the Victory Park, which is adjacent to the stadium.
The PMR President emphasized the demand for the city stadium, on the grounds of which many young people play at any time of the year. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed confidence that after the reconstruction the object will become even more popular. The President noted that he would personally supervise the progress of construction work.
Continuing the sports theme, the head of Tiraspol shared his plans for the construction of a stadium on the territory of secondary school No. 8, located in the Kirovsky microdistrict. It is planned to equip football, basketball and volleyball fields there, equip a recreation area with pavilions, install workout equipment, and lay treadmills around the stadium. Schoolchildren will be able to engage in physical education, and residents of the microdistrict will have the opportunity to train in comfortable conditions. Oleg Dovgopol specified that similar projects have been implemented for the humanitarian and mathematical gymnasium (these are the sports grounds of the Catherine Park), as well as in the Oktyabrsky microdistrict – in schools number 5 and number 18. The President instructed to build a similar stadium in the Zapadny microdistrict. This is the challenge for 2024. Sports complexes in the open air will be equipped in all schools of the republic in the future.
The second block of objects that were discussed at the meeting with the President are leisure facilities. The Head of the city presented an updated plan for the reconstruction of the botanical garden to the President. Oleg Dovgopol noted that the botanical garden has changed significantly and has become a place of attraction for citizens with the advent of tulip and lavender fields. An interesting fact is that the initially conceived scheme of the tracks was changed in response to the preferences of the botanical garden visitors. The head of the capital's state administration Oleg Dovgopol said that this year the rose garden will be improved in the botanical garden, the pedestrian paths of this segment will be paved with tiles, and benches will be installed. They plan to plant coniferous trees in the park. The President supported the idea to enrich the coniferous plantations of the botanical garden, emphasizing that this decision would make it possible to maintain the attractiveness of the park area in the winter.
As for the creation of the Pridnestrovian Republican Museum, which is already traditionally called the museum quarter: a large amount of construction work has been carried out, a new building is being built from scratch. The frame is ready. Roofing work was started. The main construction and installation works are planned to be completed this year. They will start finishing interior work in 2024.
The interlocutors discussed other projects related to the improvement of Tiraspol and the development of the urban environment. There are ideas, proposals, and developments that will be discussed in working order. When making decisions related to the improvement of social infrastructure, it is important to take into account the needs of citizens, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.
