Opening the meeting dedicated to the preparations for the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, which will be celebrated in the spring of 2025, the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that only the ignorant might think that the work had begun too far in advance. Many issues require significant costs – not only financial, but time expenditures as well. Some instructions were given by the President even earlier and are already being implemented. We are talking, for example, about putting in order memorial complexes, burial places and individual graves of participants in the Second World War. 6.3 million rubles are provided for their improvement in the Capital Investment Fund of the current year, according to the Chairman of the Government of the PMR Alexander Rosenberg. There are nine objects. The law allowed starting work from June 1, but the practical reconstruction has begun only in two Rybnitsa locations. The percentage of disbursement of funds and on them is small – no more than 20%, the speaker stated. The President directed the city and district administrations not to drag out the process. It was noted that funding will continue. 23 objects are named with a total funding of 16.3 million rubles in the program for 2024-2025. The list includes the Tiraspol, Bendery, Dubossary memorials and the burial sites of five Heroes of the Soviet Union and one Cavalier of the Order of Glory of three degrees located in the Grigoriopol, Dubossary and Slobodzeya regions. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that separately located graves, including ordinary soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War, deserve attention. The initiative to carve on stone slabs the names of all participants in the Great Patriotic War who did not return from the war to their native village or city, regardless of where their lives ended, was discussed in the course of the meeting. According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, traditionally monuments keep the names of those who died defending a particular settlement – that is, at the place of death. The President considers it necessary to imprint in stone the names of the heroes-compatriots at the place of their birth and residence before the tragedy. There is no such memorial wall in Tiraspol, Vadim Krasnoselsky gave an example.
The President noted that the repair and construction block is an important, but not the only direction of ongoing and future work. The formation of ideology is fundamental. The meeting participants discussed specific tasks related to the production of printed materials, the preparation of various historical and patriotic events. Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled that schoolchildren now have more opportunities to pay attention to history. The released Saturday hours are intended to be used for participation in cultural events, excursions, thematic events and competitions, visits to film screenings and performances that tell about the most terrible war of our time, its prerequisites and consequences, perpetrators, victims and heroes.
Among the instructions of the President is to add urgency to the work on the creation of the Pridnestrovian State Museum. The block of the Museum Quarter dedicated to the Great Patriotic War should be ready for the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.
An organizing committee will be formed to prepare a program of events within the framework of the celebration of the anniversary in the near future.
