The President Vadim Krasnoselsky is personally controlling the construction of the Pridnestrovian Historical and Local History Complex. The President visited this site for inspection today. Vadim Krasnoselsky was accompanied by the leadership of the Government Alexander Rosenberg and Sergey Obolonik, the head of Tiraspol Ilona Tyuryaeva, as well as representatives of the contractor. The President inspected the future halls of the museum, where finishing work is currently underway. Vadim Krasnoselsky talked to the artists creating the diorama of the Jassy-Kishinev operation. This large-scale work will decorate the museum hall dedicated to the period of the Great Patriotic War. The builders have already constructed the frame for the diorama. A projector and a screen will be installed soon.
Another part of the exposition dedicated to the Great Patriotic War will be located in the open air. It will include a machine-gun pillbox, a partisan village with a field kitchen and observation posts, trenches, an exhibition of wartime equipment and much more. Having inspected the pillbox, the PMR President noted that it was a unique object. The pillbox in Tiraspol will be the third in the post-Soviet space to be restored to the original, explained Vadim Krasnoselsky. Specialists managed to preserve important elements of the structure. One can look through the periscope of the PFP-5 model of 1949 with fivefold magnification in this defensive structure.
"It is necessary to complete all the work of the first stage, namely the construction of the museum section dedicated to the feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, by May 9 – the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory," said Vadim Krasnoselsky.
The Pridnestrovian Museum of History and Local History new building is adjacent to the existing Tiraspol United Museum. Repair work is currently underway there. These objects together will form a single complex, which Pridnestrovians already call a museum quarter. Its renovation is planned to be fully completed by the 35th anniversary of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The participants of the off-site meeting discussed the ongoing reconstruction of the capital's Glory Memorial. The President was told that the main work is almost complete. Granite slabs are currently being laid at the Eternal Flame. The opening of the renovated facility is scheduled for the 12th of April of this year. A ceremony of reburial of the remains of the defenders will be held at the memorial on the Day of the Liberation of the City from Nazi Invaders.
