The President took part in expanded meeting of the Collegium of the Prosecutor's Office of the PMR. The results of work for 2020 were summed up online. The heads of state authorities and administrations, prosecutors of towns and districts took part in the discussion.
The pandemic made adjustments to the work of the supervisory authorities, however, in general, it did not prevent the PMR Prosecutor's Office from fulfilling its duties in full and reaching indicators comparable to last year. The PMR Prosecutor Anatoly Guretsky spoke about this in his report. The speaker said that in the reporting period, one of the main priorities of the department's work was the supervision of compliance with the requirements of the legislation on citizens' appeals. 306 violations were identified in this area in 2020, while in 2019 - 553. Most of the violations identified are of systemic nature and are associated with imperfect legislation. In this regard, the Prosecutor's Office submitted to the PMR Supreme Council a legislative initiative aimed at eliminating existing legal gaps in 2020. On behalf of the President, prosecutors in 2020 conducted inspections in ministries and departments for compliance with the law on citizens' appeals. The active participation of managers in this work was noted.
As for the nature of the requests, in connection with the epidemiological situation and the introduction of quarantine restrictions in the reporting period, the number of applications related to labor relations, the mechanism of providing medical care and other areas of life, which were affected by the pandemic, increased significantly. Based on the results of consideration of citizens' complaints by the prosecutor's office, in close cooperation with relevant departments, legal gaps were identified and in most cases eliminated. In general, the Prosecutor's Office sent 21 legislative initiatives to the PMR Supreme Council in 2020 (in 2019 –11), five of which were adopted by the deputy corps and signed by the President (in 2019 - 2).
The Prosecutor of the PMR spoke about supervision over the implementation of legislation in the sphere of economics, budget and finance. He also focused on the observance of the rule of law in the implementation of operational-search activities. The President ordered to strengthen the control of law enforcement, tax and investigative bodies in terms of the legality of tax audits. Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention to the need to constantly improve the professional literacy of specialized specialists.
Summing up, the President of the PMR noted the naturally increased load on the prosecutor's office due to the pandemic and emphasized that the department coped with the volume of work. Vadim Krasnoselsky called on the employees of the supervisory authorities to actively participate in the meetings of ministries and departments, in the working order to coordinate and monitor the implementation of legislation in various spheres of state life. Concluding the meeting, Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked the employees of the prosecutor's office and expressed confidence that with a harmonious and responsible approach to the performance of duties, the result of the work will be invariably high.
