The President attended a ceremonial meeting to mark the 35th anniversary of the Pridnestrovian executive authorities

A ceremonial meeting to mark the 35th anniversary of the formation of the Pridnestrovian government was held in the Small Hall of the Palace of the Republic. The PMR President participated in the event. Addressing the gathering, Vadim Krasnoselsky touched upon the historical aspects that preceded the creation of the state and the formation of its governing bodies. He spoke of the collapse of the Soviet Union and its geopolitical and national fragmentation. "We started with languages, do you remember? 1989, August 31st. The adoption of the law on languages, on language in fact, on monolingualism in the Moldovan state. There is no Russian, no Ukrainian – nothing. But what a twist of fate: it seems they passed a law on the Moldovan language, and the 1992 war here in Pridnestrovie had a causal connection with this law, and then they abandoned this Moldovan language, applying Romanian as their homeland. Not to mention the history of Romania and everything else. There are two interesting dates, two documents, two decisions that historically influence Pridnestrovie: June 23, 1990 – the Declaration of Sovereignty of Moldova from the Soviet Union, August 27, 1991 – the Declaration of Independence of Moldova. What do I want to note here? This is the fundamental decision, the fateful decision to recognize the creation of the MSSR as illegal. I will not tell the story of how the Moldavian SSR was created, who annexed whom. It is all clear, everyone knows. The creation of the republic was declared illegal – that's one. The fact that the state language is Romanian – that's two. Third: there's absolutely no indication of the ethnic group living in Moldova, the newly created state. It's not specified. Read it carefully. It's not there; it's vaguely defined, not even named. But Pridnestrovie is named as the territory beyond the Dniester, where Pridnestrovians live. Therefore, if anyone in Moldova still doubts the existence of the Pridnestrovian people, they should carefully read their Declaration of Independence and implement it today. The Pridnestrovian people are the foundation of our statehood. Nothing would exist without the Pridnestrovian people", Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized. The President emphasized that no decision related to the Pridnestrovian people can be made without taking into account their opinion. This has always been the case and will continue to be the case. The President emphasized the fact that a new Romanian – Bessarabian – nation is being formed in the current historical period, while created centuries ago the Pridnestrovian nation continues to strengthen.

"The most important thing is not the shell, but what's inside. The people, the Pridnestrovian people are inside", concluded Vadim Krasnoselsky.

Vadim Krasnoselsky was awarded the Pyotr Stolypin Medal on the occasion of the government's anniversary. This is a new award. It is given for contribution to the establishment, strengthening, and development of the statehood of Pridnestrovie. The medal was presented to the First President of the PMR, leaders of the PMR Government over the years, and veterans of executive bodies in addition to the PMR President.

A series of postage stamps issued for the 35th anniversary of the PMR Government were cancelled with the participation of the President today.
