The Collegium of the State Service of Sport is dedicated to the results of 2018. The President, heads of state authorities and administration took part in the work.
The head of the department Vyacheslav Sokolenko noted in the summary report that today 18 republican federations, the Republican Center for Olympic Training, the School of Olympic Reserve, 29 state and municipal institutions of additional education carry out sports and recreation activities in the republic. The material and technical base, according to the speaker includes 7 stadiums, 189 gyms, 3 swimming pools, 7 rowing bases. Speaking about the staffing, Vyacheslav Sokolenko said that 569 coaches, 386 of them with higher and secondary specialized professional education are employed.
Last year, 11528 children were engaged in sports institutions of supplementary education. Serious results were reported by the head of the State Service for Sports, professional athletes achieved international results in 2018: 45 gold, 39 silver and 45 bronze medals. For comparison, in 2017, our athletes won 81 medals. Among the most significant achievements for the republic last year was the gold medal at the III Youth Olympic Games in Argentina, which was won by international-class PMR sport master Tatiana Salkutsan, as well as the medals of Kirill Shamshurin and Vladislav Chebotari for second and third places in international championships rowing and canoeing. According to the head of the department, Pridnestrovian fighters and para-athletes achieved serious success last year.
Speaking about the material and technical support, Vyacheslav Sokolenko noted that in 2018 the activities of the institutions of physical culture and sports were financed for 95% of the planned. The main part of the funds (52%), the head of the civil service stated, was directed to payment of labour. As part of the capital investment program of 2018, 5 sports facilities were repaired. Thus, 2.7 million rubles were spent on the reconstruction of the Republican stadium, 220731 rubles for the purchase of equipment and sports equipment, and about 277000 rubles for major repairs. 1 million rubles was allocated in the current year to sports and physical culture under the capital investment program.
“A positive attitude towards sports in society begins with each individual family. Today the level of Pridnestrovian sport has been raised to a high level. We will make every effort to support it,” Vyacheslav Sokolenko summed up his report.
The President spoke in his speech about the importance of sports and physical culture for society, and he supports the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and the development of mass sports in Pridnestrovie. “We talk a lot about healthcare. Treatment is an extreme measure. We need to think about our health, go in for sports, and popularize it - both at the family level and in society as a whole,” said Vadim Krasnoselsky. The President considers that it is necessary to develop a sustainable model for the development of this sphere to bring sport to a higher level. Profile civil service plays the main role in this matter.
According to the President, Pridnestrovian sport should develop in two directions. The first is a sport of high achievements. “I have repeatedly said that there are many talented people in Pridnestrovie. We reach great heights. For the time, our athletes are performing under the flag of the Russian Federation and other states. These achievements are ours. And the time will come when our children will perform under the flag of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. We can already compete in many sports,” Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized. A serious contribution to the development of big sport, he said, is intended to make the Olympic Reserve School, the opening of which is scheduled for this year.
Sport of high achievements, in turn, is impossible without mass sports, the President expressed confidence. Therefore, as many people as possible should be involved in physical education and sports. It is necessary to begin work with the younger generation. Children should be more actively involved in sports activities and classes in sections. Involving as many young people as possible in the sport is important, according to Vadim Krasnoselsky, for one more reason: “As in any society, we also have our own problems. People get divorced. There are many single-parent families. Often, children from such families, when they come to sports, see the second father as a coach, who can psychologically have a positive impact”. According to the President, in the cities and districts of Pridnestrovie, including on the basis of educational institutions, it is necessary to open sports centers, access to which should be free.
The President in his speech raised the issue of raising the level of skill of specialists engaged in sports and physical culture. The level of athletic skills of trainers and teachers is not questioned, however, advanced training in such areas as pedagogy and psychology, according to Vadim Krasnoselsky, is necessary.
At the end of his speech, the President emphasized that only by joint efforts it is possible to achieve the main thing - to increase the prestige of a healthy lifestyle, to form a negative attitude towards harmful habits, and thus to foster a healthy, strong and successful generation.
