The reason for holding an expanded meeting of the Board of the Ministry of State Security of Pridnestrovie is traditional - summing up the results of the operational and official activities of bodies and departments in the past year, setting goals and designating the vector of work to ensure state security of the republic in 2020. The information was announced in the presence of the President, Chairman of the PMR Supreme Council, members of the government, heads of administrations of cities and regions of the republic, heads of departments and operational employees of the department.
Summing up the results of the PMR State Security Ministry, Valery Gebos focused on the geopolitical position of the republic and on the aggravation of relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. The Minister emphasized: the fact that the political situation in Pridnestrovie is stable, power is consolidated, the economy is developing, “does not fit into Moldova’s reintegration plans”. In this regard, 2019 can be described as a crisis for the negotiation process, added Valery Gebos.
The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, in turn, noted: Moldova has never been an easy negotiator. Attempts to aggravate relations by official Chisinau undermine trust between states and slow down the negotiation process. Pridnestrovie, as before, is ready for constructive joint work within the framework of the “5 + 2” format and is doing everything to preserve the dynamics of the negotiation process.
Among the tasks that the Ministry faces in 2020 and in the medium term, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the counteraction to terrorism and extremism, strengthening of human resources, and improvement of professional and ethical level of employees. The President emphasized that special attention should be paid to the security of the state border of Pridnestrovie, especially in connection with the statements of the Moldovan side on the need to liquidate the Pridnestrovian border posts:
Concluding the speech, Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked the employees of the PMR state security organs for the work done and emphasized that political stability of the state as one of the fundamental principles for the existence of Pridnestrovie is largely protected due to the work of the personnel of the PMR Ministry of State Security.
