The festive events timed to coincide with the Militia Day were held on the parade ground of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The open area was selected as the safest from the sanitary and epidemiological point of view. The official part of the celebration was preceded by the traditional laying of flowers at the monument to employees of the internal affairs bodies who died in the line of duty, installed on the territory of the PMR Ministry of Internal Affairs. The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in the ceremony. This event is of particular importance for him: the President headed a law enforcement agency and was personally acquainted with many, in memory of whom today he lowered flowers to a stone sign. Totally, during the Pridnestrovian history, Lives of 42 militiamen were cut short during the service. Their memory was honored with a minute of silence.
The President in the course of the solemn meeting dedicated to the Day of Militia (in Pridnestrovie it is officially celebrated for the 29th time, and the holiday as such is already 103 years old) congratulated employees and veterans of the internal affairs bodies of the PMR on their professional holiday, noting their contribution to the formation of the Pridnestrovian statehood.
Vadim Krasnoselsky said that even today, when the whole world is fighting the pandemic, the Pridnestrovian militia officers, along with the doctors, are again on the front lines.
The President presented state awards to the most distinguished law enforcement officers. The President personally noted the courage and determination of junior militia sergeant Yevgeny Krikunenko with the medal "For Saving Life", who on October 23 of this year saved a young mother in trouble from inevitable death.
The most worthy leadership of the department were encouraged. The next ranks have been awarded today. In addition, on the occasion of the professional holiday, two employees of the internal affairs bodies, representing the criminal militia and the public security militia, were handed keys to service apartments. Improving living conditions, along with high-quality material and technical support of units, is one of the priority directions of the personnel of the ministry and the state as a whole, it was noted during the event. Today it is planned to commission the next - sixth - apartment building for the families of the Pridnestrovian militiamen. It is located in Grigoriopol.
