The President congratulated the military personnel on the 34th anniversary of the formation of the PMR Armed Forces

The Pridnestrovian army will turn 34 years old tomorrow. A decision in the conditions of a military threat from the Republic of Moldova was made to create the Republican Guard on September 6, 1991, which became the basis of the Armed Forces of the PMR.

A ceremonial meeting was held on the eve of the festive date. It was held in the large hall of the Palace of the Republic. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky arrived to congratulate the military personnel.

The participants of the event honored the memory of the fallen defenders of the Fatherland with a minute of silence. The head of the defense department recalled the history of the creation of the republican army, its formation, development and achievements.

"The army is developing and improving. Modern realities show that only a combat-ready, monolithic and well-coordinated military team is capable of solving the problems of ensuring the defense and security of the country. "Our armed forces keep up with the times and adopt the best practices of modern combat operations," Oleg Obruchkov emphasized. He spoke not only about the personnel of army units, but also about the training of future defenders of the Fatherland: a full cycle of military education is successfully functioning in the republic. The Minister reported that 70 new recruits joined the ranks of Suvorov cadets, 87 cadets entered the updated Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic this year. The renewal of the army infrastructure, improvement of the forms and methods of training military personnel were noted.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated those gathered on the anniversary of the Pridnestrovian statehood and the 34th anniversary of the creation of the Armed Forces of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. "The history of any state is inextricably linked with military history. This is a fact. Especially here, where the destinies of peoples, centuries, eras intersected. There have always been people on the Pridnestrovian land who defended their Fatherland," the Head of State emphasized. He recalled the heroic ancestors who defended the Pridnestrovian land at various times. He mentioned the future generation of defenders of the Pridnestrovian land – Suvorov cadets and cadets of the Military Institute. “I am proud of the Pridnestrovian army. I see the Pridnestrovian armed forces as a reliable shield of our Motherland. A shield. Not a sword, but a shield. We are learning to defend our state, our people. Much has been done for this recently. We are talking about the formation of a normal material and technical base, full-fledged training of personnel, the eradication of all the “ailments” that have taken place in the armed forces,” Vadim Krasnoselsky noted.

The President congratulated the veterans and servicemen, wishing them peace – so that they would never have to use the acquired skills in real combat situations.

The President presented state awards to the distinguished servicemen.
