The President congratulated the State Security Service employees on the 30th anniversary of the department

The solemn meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the formation of the service was held at the site of the PMR State Security Service. The PMR Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in the event.

The staff of the State Security Service of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was congratulated by the head of the department Vitaly Melenchuk who has been heading the service since 2016. He expressed gratitude to the veterans. He recalled that the history of the State Security Service of the PMR began in January 1992 with the creation of a structural unit under the PMR Government, equivalent to the department and called the Security Service. The current name – the State Security Service of the PMR - was assigned to this department on the 1st of January, 2018. Speaking about personnel and transmitted traditions, Vitaly Melenchuk focused on the fact that 118 defenders of Pridnestrovie served in the ranks of the State Security Service, 14 of which were awarded the Order for Personal Courage. It was noted that one of the initiators of the creation of the Security Service was the First President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Igor Smirnov. He was invited to the solemn event as a guest of honor today. Igor Smirnov expressed gratitude to the veterans and current employees of the State Security Service for their courage, bravery, honor and service to the Motherland, urging them to be proud of Pridnestrovie.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky addressed the participants of the celebration with a congratulatory speech. He emphasized that the history of the State Security Service is inextricably linked with the creation, formation, strengthening of the Pridnestrovian statehood. The President recalled that the security agency was created in Pridnestrovie from scratch. He also noted that the protection of officials is an important, but not the only task of the State Security Service. The President focused on a wide range of tasks performed by employees of departments that require different skills, knowledge and skills. The growth of their professionalism and combat training was noted, as well as the improvement of the material and technical base of the service, which makes it possible to use a variety of modern tools to ensure the security of the country and its citizens.
