Solemn ceremony of awarding diplomas to medical residents took place in the great hall of the Palace of the Republic. This is the first graduation of the advanced educational level of the Medical Faculty of Pridnestrovian State University named after Taras Shevchenko. Postgraduate professional medical education on the basis of the state university was included in the general system in 2021. Graduates of the Faculty of Medicine of PSU were hired as medical residents in various healthcare institutions of the republic and combined further studies with professional activities in the chosen areas. The educational standards of the PMR correspond to the Russian ones and provide for the training of specialists in 46 medical specialties. 62 residents completed the training course this year, and 74 more people continue their studies. The transition from internship to residency was once supported by the President. Vadim Krasnoselsky with his wife was among the honored guests of the festive event today. Today's event is of particular importance for the Krasnoselskys. The daughter of the President is among the first graduates-residents.
Addressing the heroes of today's solemn event, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the path to becoming a doctor is a long one and requires constant self-improvement. The PMR President emphasized the high level of teaching at the medical faculty of the Pridnestrovian State University and expressed gratitude to the mentors of today's and future graduates. The President spoke about the measures taken by the state to develop the health care system of the republic, about modernizing the infrastructure and equipping medical institutions. Vadim Krasnoselsky at the same time focused on the fact that the basis of successful medicine is the professionalism of doctors, their personal qualities and attitude towards the patient.
The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, the PMR Government Chairman Alexander Rosenberg, Vice Speaker of the Legislative Body of the Republic Galina Antyufeeva, Minister of Healthcare Kristina Albul, Rector of the State University Vladislav Sokolov took part in the graduation ceremony. The chief doctors of medical institutions of Pridnestrovie, heads of practice, the dean and teachers of the medical faculty of PSU, representatives of the Ministry of Healthcare and relatives of graduates arrived to support the now certified residents.
