The exhibition illustrating the history of the creation and development of the financial system of Pridnestrovie was organized on the site of the art gallery of the United Museum in Tiraspol. The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky. Welcoming the organizers and guests of the exhibition, the President noted that it is impossible to imagine a self-sufficient state without successfully functioning financial institutions. The President drew attention to the Pridnestrovian Ruble, recalling that this is the only example when a state not recognized by the international community has its own currency. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that having your own currency is a great blessing for the country, but at the same time it is a huge responsibility.
Noting the importance of the contribution of veterans of the financial industry of Pridnestrovie to the creation of the republic as well as the importance of the daily work of the current specialists in this sphere the PMR President congratulated everyone on the 30th anniversary of the system. Vadim Krasnoselsky was awarded the badge "30 years of the PMR financial system" on the occasion of the anniversary.
The prerequisites for the creation of the financial system of Pridnestrovie, the history of which officially began on May 21, 1991 with the adoption of the first Pridnestrovian budget were recalled during the event. This main financial document of the country is one of the exhibits of the exhibition, as well as the computer technology 30 years ago, with the help of which it was created. The participants of the celebration spoke about the stages of formation and reorganizations that meet the requirements of the time. They remembered the founders and veterans. The information stands showed the current model of the financial system of Pridnestrovie, the three pillars of which are the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Accounts Chamber. An important element is the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank. It was noted during the solemn event that the creation at the end of 1992 of this significant institution was a serious step towards the development of the economy and the strengthening of statehood. The organizers of the exhibition paid attention to the Pridnestrovian ruble, introduced into circulation in 1994. Visitors were reminded that their own banknote production was established in 2000, and the coin production - in 2005. The coins made of composite materials put into circulation in 2014, as well as fifty commemorative coins (made of precious and base metals) dedicated to a variety of topics related to history, culture, and achievements of the Pridnestrovian people were among the exhibits.
The first guests of the exhibition were especially interested in the hall, which houses the creative works of children of employees of the departments of the financial block. Competition for children's handicrafts and drawings on the theme “The Wonderful World of Finance through the Eyes of Children” was announced on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the system. The works are done in various techniques and styles. The jury members could not decide on the choice of the winners, so a whole hall was set aside for this exposition.
The exhibition will be presented to the attention of visitors to the art gallery for a month – until the 26th of June.
