"Fighters remember the days gone by". This is already the usual for May 9 the name for the festive concert accompanying the traditional event – the May 9 dugout. Residents of Tiraspol organized a meeting at the festive table in the square of the City Palace of Culture. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky arrived here to congratulate the veterans. Communicating with the participants of the May 9 dugout in the capital, they exchanged congratulations, commemorated those who did not live to see the victorious May 1945, and those who lived a long post-war life, but did not wait for the 78th anniversary of the Victory.
About six hundred veterans of the Great Patriotic War and persons equated to them – blockade runners, prisoners of fascism, disabled veterans of the Second World War, widows, home front workers live in Pridnestrovie. Those who participated in the hostilities of 1941-1945 are known by name. There are only a few in every city. Tiraspol is richer than the rest in this respect. Almost half of the living Pridnestrovian veterans who passed the military path during the Second World War live in the capital. Participants in hostilities Vladimir Ivanovich Gromov, Alexei Ivanovich Zhdanov and Konstantin Ivanovich Puganov, home front worker Galina Semyonovna Shcherbina, veteran of the Armed Forces Valery Ivanovich Glazkov and his wife Valentina Fedorovna shared memories of those years with the PMR President today. In total, a dozen tables were festively set in the square. Heads of public authorities and administration, as well as representatives of public organizations and veteran movements were invited to the event in addition to veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
Addressing the veterans, the PMR President congratulated them on his own behalf and on behalf of the entire Pridnestrovian people.
Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated on Victory Day the participants of the event and in their person all Pridnestrovians and everyone who honors the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War who liberated the world from fascism. The PMR President called for respect for history, loyalty to traditions and the memory of ancestors. He expressed gratitude to the veterans, emphasized that this gratitude is nationwide.
Thematic musical accompaniment of the festive event was provided by soloists and creative teams of cultural institutions of Tiraspol – State Palace of Culture, the Orpheus youth club, the House of Folk Traditions and Crafts, the Mir cultural and leisure center, as well as the orchestra of the General Staff of the PMR Armed Forces.
