The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky paid a working visit to the Grigoriopol District, accompanied by the district’s head Oleg Gabuzha. Vadim Krasnoselsky toured as part of the visit the "AgroFrukt" LLC agricultural enterprise, located near the village of Tashlyk, the site he had visited previously.
The head of the enterprise Yuri Gorash briefed the President on the changes that have taken place and discussed the development of the production infrastructure. He noted that the farm was established 15 years ago. The enterprise in the early stages was allocated approximately 300 hectares of old orchards that required clearing, labor-intensive and costly process, which the team successfully completed, preparing the land for use as arable fields. They began subsequently developing an irrigation system, laying water pipelines, installing hydrants, and acquiring irrigation equipment. The farm employs various irrigation methods today, including drip irrigation and water supply via hydrants.
The enterprise manages approximately 430 hectares of arable land. "AgroFrukt" specializes in the production of grain, industrial crops, and vegetables. For instance, approximately 70 hectares were planted this year with corn; the farm also grows sunflowers and wheat. About 15–20 hectares are dedicated to vegetable crops, with the specific acreage adjusted according to production plans each year. This year’s harvest included bell peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, and watermelons. The farm has also cultivated eggplants, and a variety of round, flattened peppers, onions, and carrots in previous years. The products are intended primarily for the domestic market of Pridnestrovie.
The President inquired about how the harvest is stored. Vadim Krasnoselsky was informed that the enterprise constructed a refrigerated storage facility for produce as part of a state-sponsored preferential lending program. Subsequently, additional funds were allocated to create further storage space for agricultural goods. Yuri Gorash noted that without state support, developing the enterprise, upgrading its infrastructure, and implementing new technologies would have been significantly more difficult. The President inspected the storage facilities, which currently house corn grain and sunflower seeds.
According to the head of the enterprise, this year saw a record-breaking grain harvest. Specifically, the wheat yield reached approximately 70 centners per hectare, compared to a district average of about 47 centners.
Vadim Krasnoselsky wished the enterprise’s team continued development and highlighted the importance of agriculture to the republic. He described it as a vital and essential sector – a cornerstone of the economy, and emphasized that the work of agricultural producers is crucial for supplying the domestic market with locally grown products.
