Vadim Krasnoselsky held a working meeting. Officials and representatives of organizations involved in the work to preserve the memory of the defenders of Pridnestrovie were invited to the discussion. They discussed issues related to the burial of those who three decades ago defended the republic and died later in peacetime. Life circumstances develop in such a way that not all the graves of the defenders are well-groomed by the efforts of relatives. It was decided at one time to allocate a separate territory for the burial of deceased defenders at the Borisov cemetery in Bendery, unless the relatives of the deceased decide otherwise. The graves in this area are taken care of centrally. Made according to a single model monuments are built for each grave. Hundreds of burials have already been completed. Another 50 monuments will be built this year – by the 19th of June. The same number is planned for next year.
The state of the burial places of the deceased defenders in Tiraspol was discussed in the course of the meeting today. It is noted that there are two quarters in the Novy cemetery where most of the graves in question are concentrated: 42nd and 68th. 168 graves require attention. Forty graves will be put in order at the first stage on behalf of the President. A specially c commission, which includes representatives of the state administration, the city council, the Military Commissariat and the Union of Defenders, is responsible for collecting information about the deceased defenders and interacting with their relatives (if any). The monuments will be uniform – similar to those installed in Bendery. This practice will be spread throughout the country over time, said Vadim Krasnoselsky.
