The Victory spring came in April 1944 for most towns and regions of Pridnestrovie. Residents of Tiraspol, Dubossary, Grigoriopol and some settlements of the republic celebrate the 79th anniversary of the liberation from the Nazi invaders today. Commemorative and solemn events are held in the settlements, an obligatory component of which is a minute of silence in memory of the heroes who gave their lives in the fight against fascism.
Flowers revived memorial plates and pedestals of monuments to the defenders. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky on behalf of the Pridnestrovian people left a basket of carnations symbolizing unfading gratitude to the descendants at the Eternal Flame of the capital's Memorial of Glory. The flower-laying ceremony was attended by heads of state authorities and administration, the First President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the head of the capital administration and the chairman of the city council, military personnel, clergy, representatives of public organizations, residents of Tiraspol and guests of the city.
