Welcoming Peter Michalko, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that he was glad to have the opportunity to discuss topical issues with the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova. The President highlighted the theme of strengthening and developing trade relations. The European Union is an important economic partner of the republic, and exports in this direction are at a significant level, the President noted. In this context, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the significant contribution of the EU Delegation and personally of Peter Michalko to the establishment of mutually beneficial contacts between Pridnestrovie and the European Union.
The interlocutors also spoke about the course of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. The meeting participants agreed that the constructive nature and high dynamics of the dialogue of the last one and a half years should be preserved, and losing momentum in the work of the international “5 + 2” negotiation format is fraught with negative consequences. Vadim Krasnoselsky sees urgent the holding of regular meeting of the “Permanent Meeting...”. According to him, the joint discussion requires issues of telecommunications, banking sector and railway communications.
Vadim Krasnoselsky and Peter Michalko discussed issues related to the implementation of humanitarian projects under the auspices of the European Union. The PMR President noted the importance of detailed study and discussion of the specific parameters of the proposed initiatives. Peter Michalko, in turn, said that the European Union intends to continue to implement projects aimed at improving the lives of people.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the whole range of issues of interest and agreed to continue constructive interaction based on the principles of openness and mutual interest.
