The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky with his wife took part in the ceremonial event on the occasion of Militia Day. It was held this year in the Tiraspol cinema of the capital. The place was not chosen by chance. All those present after the official part were treated to a surprise from the Ministry of Internal Affairs – a screening of a fascinating detective story about Pridnestrovian militia. The film was shot by a local creative group under the leadership of a Russian director. Not only Pridnestrovian professional actors were involved in the film, but also militia officers.
The President made a congratulatory speech before showing of the film. Vadim Krasnoselsky addressed the internal affairs officers gathered in the hall not only as the President, but also as a militia veteran. Vadim Krasnoselsky served in law enforcement agencies for almost two decades, five of which from 2007 to 2012 as the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
Congratulating the Pridnestrovian militia on the 32nd anniversary of its formation, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that its formation is inextricably linked with the development of statehood of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The President recalled the difficult choice that confronted militia officers after the collapse of the Soviet Union. He emphasized that the militiamen made their choice with their souls, speaking out for the Pridnestrovian people.
Militia officers during the years of the formation of the republic had to go through many tests, encountering danger. More than 40 militiamen died in the fight against crime in Pridnestrovie, and 16 law enforcement officers gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Their memory was honored with a minute of silence today.
The PMR President recalled that Pridnestrovians always turn to militia officers for protection by dialing “102” in any difficult situation. The level of public trust in the Pridnestrovian militia is high, the President emphasized.
Vadim Krasnoselsky especially noted the educational institutions that train professional personnel for the Ministry of Internal Affairs: the Republican Cadet Corps and the Tiraspol Law Institute. There are all the technical capabilities to organize training at a high level now.
The PMR President in conclusion thanked all employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for protecting public safety and law and order, wishing peace and health. The President presented state awards to the best employees.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs this year established a special award for the wives of militia officers – the badge “For Love and Fidelity”. The President’s wife Svetlana Krasnoselskaya was the first, who received it today.
