Thematic photo exhibition was opened in the exhibition hall of the Alexander Nevsky Park for the Day of the Russian Military Peacekeeper. The idea belongs to Rossotrudnichestvo, implemented in cooperation with IA "Sputnik". Expositions dedicated to the activities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation have been arranged for this date in different parts of the world. On the stands there are frozen footage of the everyday life of Russian military personnel guarding the peace in Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Yugoslavia, Nagorno-Karabakh, and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The choice of the location for the exhibition in Pridnestrovie is not accidental. Modern reportage photographs are adjacent to the permanent exposition of the exhibition hall of Bendery Park, which is a timeline: in the ranks the life-size figures of Russian soldiers who in different epochs stood guard for peace on the banks of the Dniester from the soldier of Catherine's times to today's peacemaker.
“This exhibition hall was chosen for the peacemaking exhibition for a reason. You see the inscription "Soldier-Liberator". This is the essence of peacekeeping. The peacemaker is the soldier who liberates, brings peace”, said Vadim Krasnoselsky, speaking at the opening of the exhibition. The President emphasized that at all times Soviet, Russian soldier is ready to come to the aid of those who need it. Speaking about the peacekeeping mission in Pridnestrovie, Vadim Krasnoselsky shared the memories of his youth, when it seemed that after the Great Patriotic War that had become history could no longer return to the native land. “Unfortunately, the collapse of the Soviet Union was followed by aggression and war. Terrorist attacks against the Pridnestrovian people began. And again a soldier-peacemaker came to the rescue of the multinational people of Pridnestrovie. What is characteristic of the feat of the Russian peacekeeper? He does not defend the representatives of any particular nationality or religion. The Russian peacekeeper protects all people living in this territory, regardless of their nationality and religion. The Russian peacemaker has never imposed either his language or his religion”, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.
The Day of the Military Peacemaker was included in the Russian calendar five years ago. Vadim Krasnoselsky considers this date significant for Pridnestrovians as well. The PMR President expressed gratitude for preservation of the peacekeeping mission on the Dniester to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the Minister of Defense of Russia Sergei Shoygu and every serviceman who protects peace and tranquility on the Pridnestrovian land.
