Meeting of Vadim Krasnoselsky with the European delegation, headed by the Head of the European External Action Service department for Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Belarus, Dorota Dlouchy-Suliga was held at the presidential executive office. The Head of the EU delegation to the Republic of Moldova Janis Mazeiks was among the visitors. Deputy Chairman of the PMR Government Sergey Obolonik and the PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev took part in the working conversation from the Pridnestrovian side in addition to the President.
The PMR President reported that no serious events had occurred since the previous meeting, and there were no positive developments in the negotiation process with the Republic of Moldova. “We will talk about the peace that exists, about the negotiation process that does not exist at the moment, and about the problems that are associated with it”, this is how Vadim Krasnoselsky outlined the agenda for today’s discussion. He especially emphasized the importance of discussing socio-economic issues, “People live, enterprises must work and pay taxes, employees must receive wages, pensioners must receive pensions no matter what political turbulence occurs. External circumstances have a negative impact on the Pridnestrovian economy, of course. It's clear, but we have the power to minimize the negative consequences. This is the path of development, progress, positivity.”
Dorota Dlouchy-Suliga noted in turn that she is glad for the continued stability, but does not welcome stagnation. She recalled that the activities of the organization she represents are based on building and maintaining dialogue. The diplomat expressed a desire to discuss ways of cooperation in particular economic in the current realities. “Our main interest is people, and our main priorities are the economy and stability”, emphasized Dorota Dlouchy-Suliga.
The interlocutors expressed hope for a productive conversation filled with practical meaning. Officials responsible for political and economic issues were invited to the meeting to ensure that the meeting was substantive.
