The USA delegation that arrived in Tiraspol included Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to the Republic of Moldova Dereck Hogan, Deputy Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development for Europe and Eurasia Brock Bierman and their colleagues. Welcoming the guests, Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention to the positive experience of interaction between Pridnestrovie and the United States in the humanitarian, cultural and economic planes. In particular, the interlocutors mentioned the functioning of the Center for English Language and American Culture on the basis of Pridnestrovian State University, as well as humanitarian events. They shared their impressions about the concert of performers from the USA at the beginning of this week in the Pridnestrovian capital. “We are for normal relations and cooperation, respect and welcome cultures of any countries and peoples and support social and economic issues not to mix with political ones, otherwise interaction turns into populism”, said Vadim Krasnoselsky.
The guests asked the opinion of the PMR President on the prospects for further economic cooperation. Vadim Krasnoselsky explained that the strategy of development of the agro-industrial complex of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic covers three areas: production, improvement of villages and rural tourism. “There are favorable conditions for the development of the agro-industrial complex in Pridnestrovie. We welcome any opportunity that allows agricultural producers to expand and modernize production, creating new jobs”, emphasized the PMR President.
Speaking about other areas of possible interaction, Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about plans to build a new TB dispensary in the prison. He noted that assistance in the implementation of this exclusively humanitarian project would significantly speed up the construction process and commissioning of a socially significant object.
Another area in which help is always needed is support for people with special needs. Vadim Krasnoselsky said that attention paid to people with special needs in Pridnestrovie in recent years increased. “We are building sports and educational centers for children and adults whose state of health requires the creation of special conditions. These people should be as socialized as possible, involved in society. It is important for them to be self-sufficient and feel needed and useful. Assistance in this matter cannot be superfluous,” the PMR President noted.
Representatives of the American delegation noted that each of these areas deserves attention. The meeting participants discussed specific proposals, exchanged views on various projects, and outlined ways for further cooperation, agreed to maintain working contacts.
