Representative Pridnestrovian delegation led by PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky arrived in the Russian capital. Meetings and events with the participation of Vadim Krasnoselsky and his accompanying persons - Chairman of the PMR Government Alexander Martynov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Vitaly Ignatiev are scheduled till the end of the working week. Today they worked at the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. Among the interlocutors of Vadim Krasnoselsky is Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Farit Mukhametshin. His interest in the fate of Pridnestrovie for more than five years has been associated with professional activities: the diplomat headed the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Russia and often visited the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, closely interacting with the leadership of the PMR in various spheres. After expiration of the ambassador’s mandate, Farit Mukhametshin continues to be interested in the events taking place in and around Pridnestrovie, and continues to strengthen and develop Russian- Pridnestrovian relations as a Russian parliamentarian.
Welcoming Farit Mukhametshin, Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed his gratitude to him for the ongoing cooperation. The interlocutors discussed issues within the competence of the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs. They talked about Russian citizenship for the residents of Pridnestrovie, prospects for the use of maternal capital in the republic, use of Pridnestrovian medical insurance policies of the Russian Federation, and peacekeeping. It was noted during the working discussion that a significant number of Russian citizens live in Pridnestrovie, which explains the continued interest of members of the Federation Council in what is happening in the republic. The support of compatriots is one of the main areas of activity of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, whose representatives the PMR President spoke today.
The issue of Moldovan-Pridnestrovian relations was discussed. The PMR President emphasized that today's meeting is an opportunity to share news, exchange views, voice and argue their position on pressing issues. One of the aspects that affected the situation in Pridnestrovie and during the negotiation process with the Republic of Moldova is the changes that have occurred in the composition of the Government of neighboring state, the PMR President noted. According to him, the time past after the elections and the formation of the ruling coalition of Moldova and it allows us to analyze the situation, evaluate the decisions made, and draw the appropriate conclusions. Vadim Krasnoselsky voiced the position of Pridnestrovie and listened to the opinion of Russian colleagues in this regard.
The meeting participants spoke about the 5 + 2 format meeting expected in the near future and the current slowdown of the negotiation process, giving and analyzing concrete examples of actions or, on the contrary, the inaction of the Moldovan side in resolving certain issues on the negotiation agenda. It was noted that recently the number of problems has not been reduced, as it was in the previous two years, but is growing.
Concluding the meeting, the interlocutors agreed to continue the working dialogue in the usual constructive manner and to keep each other up to date with the events in order to be able to quickly respond to changes in the situation.
