Festive events dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 began with the raising of the Victory Banner

Tiraspol residents and guests of the city gathered in the main square of the Pridnestrovian capital to the sound of songs of the war years to celebrate the Great Victory Day. Official celebrations have traditionally opened the ceremony of raising of the Victory Banner. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the PMR Government Alexander Martynov, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, First President Igor Smirnov, public authorities and management representatives, command of the Operational Group of Russian Forces, members of official delegations, clergy. Participants of the Great Patriotic War Vladimir Ivanovich Gromov and Vladimir Vasilyevich Lebedev are near the flagpole. Lifted into the sky over Tiraspol the triumphal canvas is a copy of the red banner hoisted over the building of the defeated Reichstag by the soldiers of the 150th Idritskaya rifle division Alexei Berest, Mikhail Yegorov and Meliton Kantaria.
