The President visited during his inspection in Rybnitsa the city-forming enterprise – Moldovan Metallurgical Plant

The Moldovan Metallurgical Plant celebrated its anniversary this month. It celebrated its 40th anniversary on October 9. The countdown starts from the first smelting (the construction of the plant in Rybnitsa began in 1981). The history of Moldovan Metallurgical Plant has more than two hundred thousand smeltings in total. Visited the plant today the President was told that over four decades, 23.273.000 tons of steel and 18.609.000 tons of rolled products have been produced, with 400 types in the assortment. They talked about the achievements of Moldovan Metallurgical Plant, the daily work of the enterprise, the difficulties faced by the team, and plans for the future. Vadim Krasnoselsky called Rybnitsa metallurgists people with an iron will after the story of Moldovan Metallurgical Plant Director Sergei Kornev about how pandemic restrictions and the difficulties that came after the Covid times prompted the plant workers to new developments and acquisitions. For example, two roundabouts near Moldovan Metallurgical Plant are a major breakthrough in the development of the logistics complex. A new approach to traffic management eliminated the accumulation of vehicles, reducing the period of time that cars spend on the plant's territory from two to three days to several hours.

The PMR President inspected the finished goods warehouse. It was put into operation in 2019. The presence of this site made it possible to continue production and unload an additional 19 thousand tons of rolled metal during the period of restrictions on rail transport from Ukraine. We are talking about an open area, but not all types of products can be stored outdoors. A special room has been equipped for special types of wire rod. Sergey Kornev told the President that the enterprise does not manufacture products without an order. He showed reinforcement for the Romanian, Polish and Czech markets.

The head of the enterprise showed new equipment to the President. The giant loader does not even have license plates yet – it is being tested on the plant's territory. A 47-meter tower is also a necessary thing. The equipment is used to assemble a new steel-smelting furnace. This is own project of the Moldovan Metallurgical Plant, custom-made in China. The task set by the developers was to reduce the cost of production. Special attention is paid to scientific and engineering work, according to the director. A scientific council for the development of the plant meets monthly.

The President inspected the department for the complex processing of scrap metal. The equipment was modernized. The economic effect of recent production improvements has reached four and a half million dollars.

Another plant location that attracted the President's attention was the electric steelmaking shop. Vadim Krasnoselsky was shown there a rotating stand, which was replaced in 2019. The President visited the steelmakers' control panel. The director of the plant emphasized that both this equipment and the software are the most modern. The plant strives to minimize dependence on the so-called human factor, but the metallurgist remains the main person in the steelmaking process, as in any other production, Sergey Kornev emphasized. The President in a conversation with representatives of one of the largest enterprises in the republic paid special attention to the problems faced by Moldovan Metallurgical Plant and the Pridnestrovian industry as a whole.
