Vadim Krasnoselsky in the course of the working meeting raised the issue of ensuring food security. They talked about agriculture. The President asked about the harvest. The PMR Government Chairman Alexander Rosenberg reported that 417 thousand tons of leguminous crops have been harvested, 308 thousand tons of which are winter wheat. It meets 100% of domestic demand. Corn harvesting continues. Weather conditions have shifted the sowing dates and the harvest accordingly. The availability of irrigation has made it possible to ensure good yield indicators. Over 50 million cubic meters of water in total were supplied throughout the republic. Alexander Rosenberg noted that the prolonged rains of the current agricultural season made it possible to save on volume. The melioration system covers 33.5 thousand hectares of agricultural land. The state plans to increase the figure to 40000 hectares in the near future. The irrigation water tariff has been maintained at 1.1 rubles per cubic meter.

As for the vegetable group, local farmers provide the budget sector almost entirely. For example, 5.5 thousand tons of potatoes have been harvested this year. The domestic milk production index is 80%. The number of dairy cattle has increased. There is plenty of local meat products.

Vadim Krasnoselsky aimed at maintaining measures to support the agricultural sector. He asked whether they are provided for in the budget for next year. They are spelled out in the draft. The PMR President recalled the advisability of involving Pridnestrovian industrialists in the process of developing the melioration complex. Effective cooperation has now been established with the Elektromash plant. This interaction should be continued and expanded, the President emphasized.
