The project of two medical colleges combining was discussed at the meeting under the President

A meeting dedicated to the improvement of the educational network in the field of training medical personnel was held at the site of the Administration of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. It was about institutions of secondary vocational education. There are two medical colleges in Pridnestrovie to date: the Tiraspol colleges named after Tarasevich (established in 1930) and the Bendery colleges (its history dates back to the post-war 1945). Both institutions are state-owned. There has been a tendency to reduce the number of students in each of them in recent years. There is a situation of functioning of small groups. The infrastructure is not fully used. The material and technical base of colleges requires updating, but it is impractical to re-equip and modernize functionally identical classrooms and practical training facilities in two educational institutions. They said at today's meeting under the President that a number of specialties are duplicated in educational institutions: nursing, laboratory diagnostics, obstetrics, medical care, medical and preventive care. The Ministry of Health took the initiative to merge two educational institutions and create a State general educational institution of secondary vocational education "N. V. Sklifosovsky Medical College" on its basis. The participants of the working discussion discussed the reorganization project presented by the Minister of Health of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Kristina Albul. There will be two educational platforms. Nurses, laboratory staff, specialists in the field of orthopedic dentistry and massage therapists will be trained for people with special life needs in Tiraspol. The Bendery division will focus on the training of pharmacists, obstetricians, as well as medical professionals specializing in medical and preventive medicine. The unified clinical base is planned to be replenished with new areas, such as cosmetology and phytotherapy rooms, treatment, massage, physiotherapy rooms, mini-operating unit. There are plans to create a Center for additional vocational education, the resources of which will be used for advanced training and retraining of medical workers. It is estimated that optimization will significantly increase the salary of employees. The reduction of teachers working on a permanent basis is not expected. The concept of external part-time work will become a thing of the past, in which mainly medical workers who do not have a pedagogical education are involved at the moment. This step will become an effective motivational tool for improving the skills of teaching staff, representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic who took part in the meeting noted. The deputies of the Supreme Council, who head parliamentary committees working on legislation in the field of education and healthcare, asked detailed and clarifying questions during the discussion.

They talked not only about the proposed changes in relation to specific medical educational institutions, but also about the improvement of the vocational education system as a whole. The President aimed: it should be flexible and respond promptly to public and state requests. If we talk about medicine, there is a great need for nurses and staff specializing in medical practice today (this is due, among other things, to the opening of new rural outpatient clinics and paramedic-obstetric stations).

Vadim Krasnoselsky supported the idea of merging the two colleges in general, stressing that any changes should be aimed at improving the conditions and quality of education. The Head of State called the improvement of the material and technical base and the possibility of increasing wages important aspects. The project is being finalized. The decision to assign to the educational institution the name of a native of the Pridnestrovian land (Quarantine small village, which today is called the village of Dzerzhinskoye, Dubossary district), the great physician and scientist Nikolai Sklifosovsky did not cause doubts. It is assumed that the Pridnestrovian educational "Skliff" will begin to prepare students from the 1st of September this year. It is necessary to carry out not only organizational measures, but also explanatory work among students and staff of medical colleges.
