Another thick squall swept across the republic at the beginning of last week. The on-call service of the Main Directorate for Emergency Situations received 57 appeals from citizens, mainly on the fact of falling trees and flooding of residential buildings, Deputy Interior Minister Andrei Barabash told the President during the conference call. More than 250 employees of the State Emergency Service and utilities, as well as more than fifty pieces of equipment were involved in the elimination of the consequences of bad weather. Cases of temporary lack of power supply were recorded (6357 subscribers in Slobodzeya district, 892 in Kitskany, 168 in the village of Gyrtop, Grigoriopol district, 675 in the villages of Kamenka district) and water supply (Slobodzeya and Priozernoe). A gas pipeline was damaged in Chobruchi and Nezavertaylovka. The gas leak has been repaired. The elimination of accidents took from thirty minutes to seven hours, depending on the situation.
Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude to everyone who is involved in the work to eliminate the consequences of downpours and squally winds. He stressed that not a single appeal of citizens with a request for help should be ignored. The President noted that the specialized division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is provided with specialized equipment, and urged rescuers to closely cooperate with utilities and local administrations.
