The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky is on a working visit to Moscow. Working meeting with lawyers, human rights defenders and public figures of Russia was held at the Official Representation of Pridnestrovie in the Russian capital. The Pridnestrovian side was attended by the Minister on Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev, Head of the PMR Representative Office in Moscow Leonid Manakov. The Russian side was represented by the director of the Moscow Bureau, a member of the Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation Alexander Brod - he participated via video link, President of the Guild of Advocates of Russia Hasan Mirzoev, expert of the Independent Public Monitoring Association Oleg Ivannikov, President of the Russian Academy of Advocacy and Notaries Gennady Cheremnykh, member Council of the Assembly of the Peoples of Russia Vladimir Khomeriki and others.
The topic of the workshop is the protection of the rights of Pridnestrovians, including citizens of Russia and compatriots, who are violated in connection with the incessant pressure from Moldova. This is the problem of politically motivated criminal prosecution, violation of the right to freedom of movement, economic problems associated with the closure of bank accounts of our enterprises, restrictions for pensioners who cannot use international bank cards and receive pensions, difficulties with apostille of Pridnestrovian diplomas, and others.
Such topical issues as the use of Russian maternity capital and medical insurance policy in the territory of Pridnestrovie were included to the agenda. The President Vadim Krasnoselsky proposed to legislate the possibility of using these rights for Russian citizens on the territory of our republic. So, for example, use Russian maternity capital to study and purchase housing in Pridnestrovie.
Russian human rights lawyers noted the urgency of the problems. They offered to unite legal efforts and make a statement in support of Pridnestrovie at international platforms. In particular, Alexander Brod offered to prepare a report on the situation in our country, where he should point out all the unresolved problems – political pressure, facts of the economic blockade, pressure on business during the pandemic, bans on entry to Pridnestrovie for experts and journalists. All experts were unanimous in their opinion - we should talk more about Pridnestrovie at all levels and do it constantly. The plans are to prepare a large-scale program in this direction.
They talked a lot at the meeting about history, about the connection between Pridnestrovie and Russia. Vadim Krasnoselsky also recalled the role of the Russian peacekeeper in our country.
The President thanked the guests for their participation in the meeting and invited them to Pridnestrovie. It is planned to open a memorial complex in memory of the victims of the Holocaust on the territory of the Bendery Fortress on January 27, the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Holocaust. The PMR President said that this is also a part of our common history, and we must remember this.
