Coronavirus situation in PMR

Pridnestrovian COVID statistics: 5982 confirmed cases of the disease; 4288 people (72% of the total number of cases) recovered; 143 carriers of the new type of infection died (mortality rate – 2.4%); 1286 Pridnestrovians are being treated in coronavirus hospitals of the republic (76% of the bed capacity of level II hospitals is occupied), 23 people are in intensive care units, five of whom are connected to artificial lung ventilation devices; 173 residents of the republic, suspected of having the virus, are waiting in hospital isolation for the results of testing biomaterial samples; 1302 citizens were prescribed self-isolation at their place of residence.

It was noted at the meeting 54887 samples were tested by PCR in laboratories for the entire time of the pandemic. This method is effective, but costly - both financially and in time. The duration of one study is 4-6 hours. The new express equipment, which has already been tested in Pridnestrovie, allows carried out test within 15 minutes. The second plus is that with the help of these analyzers, an antigen is detected that is produced in the body from the first days of the disease, while the express tests used so far reveal antibodies that appear in the blood no earlier than a week after the infection. Important aspects are the compactness and mobility of this type of equipment, as well as its affordability. Purchase order for 20 portable laboratories and 30000 tests completed. At the same time, the practice of deep PCR testing will continue. The relevant departments have been instructed to prescribe clear regulations in which cases to give preference to which research method. On the recommendation of the President at the initial stage, several groups of the ambulance service will be provided with express analyzers in order to test this system in conditions of calling doctors at home.

Another instruction from the President is to regulate at the level of the Ministry of Health the procedure for registering patients with coronavirus in hospitals. We are talking about who needs to be hospitalized immediately - regardless of the time of day, and which of the patients who called the ambulance team at night can wait for the onset of a new day at home. Vadim Krasnoselsky raised the topic of daily maintenance of treatment protocols for each patient by the medical staff. This is a very important document, the President emphasized, noting that there are complaints about this.

An obligatory component of the reports of the chief physicians is information on the material and technical provision of medical institutions. Increased attention was paid to personal protective equipment and medicines. The President constantly reminds that the availability must be monitored and applications must be formed in advance in order to prevent a shortage or complete absence of personal protective equipment or medicines. At the same time, there were rumors that there was allegedly no oxygen and some medications in the capital's hospital of veterans. Answering the presidential questions in this regard, the Head of the medical institution informed that there was not shortage in oxygen and medicines. It was instructed to find out which of the staff the source of false information was and whether there were facts of extortion from patients. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that the country's leadership is making every effort to ensure the safety and health of citizens and will not allow individuals to cast a shadow on the health care system as a whole.

At the meeting they also talked about closed-type social institutions. They receive increased attention and increased safety requirements are imposed in the pandemic. There are quarantine restrictions among them. Visits and departures of wards outside the institution are minimized. The President instructed to ensure the mandatory two-week isolation of newly admitted inmates and wards, regardless of the results of the testing.

The epidemic situation in the Tiraspol psycho-neurological boarding house has worsened. 120 out of the 360 wards were tested. 47 people had COVID-19. All of them are being treated in hospital. It is planned to continue the examination of the wards.

They focused at the meeting on the issue of the functioning of extended day groups in schools. The decision of the Operational Headquarters remains unchanged: while the incidence rate is growing, children will not be within the walls of educational institutions longer than the main educational process requires. At the same time, additional payments to teachers for this type of activity have been preserved. In this regard, teachers are prescribed, if there is a need, to conduct additional classes with pupils remotely.

The next meeting of the Operational Headquarters under the President is scheduled for Thursday.
