The Ministry of Defense held a meeting of the Military Collegium. The meeting participants discussed the results of service in 2025 and plans for 2026. The PMR Defense Minister Oleg Obruchkov delivered the keynote address. The Commander-in-Chief of the PMR Armed Forces, the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky participated in the meeting.
The defense minister's detailed report, filled with performance indicators, analytical sections, conclusions, and proposals, covered all areas of the armed forces' activities. It covered combat and physical training, the state of weapons and equipment, logistics, the level of discipline in army structures and institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Defense, educational and training work, the involvement of military personnel in sports, and their involvement in public life. A summary of the information block dedicated to combat training: Pridnestrovian military personnel are successfully mastering the latest digital technologies, equipment, tools, and tactics in accordance with modern requirements. The level of professional training is enhanced through systematic exercises, practical shooting, and intra-army and interdepartmental competitions. It is noted that representatives of the Ministry of Defense regularly participate in and often win prizes at various competitions. Moreover, the ministry initiates and organizes a variety of events. The minister highlighted the Military Parade, the interdepartmental sports and athletic contests among security agencies, the "Defender-2025" military professional skills competition, and the beret qualification tests (for Military Intelligence Officer Day), summing up the past year. The minister noted that a comprehensive, multi-tiered military education system has been created in Pridnestrovie. The Suvorov Military School and the Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense in Tiraspol are in high demand and continue to improve. Currently, 266 Suvorov cadets are studying at the institution. The university is introducing new relevant specialties and training areas, including those related to the administration and engineering of transport and technological systems in various units.
Regarding the maintenance of weapons and equipment, logistics and food supplies, and economic activities, Oleg Obruchkov noted that work was carried out at the proper level, according to plan, and on time, despite the objective financial difficulties experienced by the entire country last year. Repair and construction work was also carried out at army infrastructure facilities during the reporting period.
The social function of the defense ministry is also important. The Minister spoke about educational and patriotic work, the creation of the "Book of Memory," which was presented on August 1, 2025, the holding of a series of events under the general title "Conscript's Day" and the effective operation of the "Dnistrovskye Zori" health resort, which was visited by 348 adults and 2354 children in 2025.
The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized before discussing the information presented by the Minister of Defense the unequivocal importance of the armed forces. The President noted that the country's defense ministry's activities are directly linked to the situation within the country's borders. The situation is currently extremely complex and unstable. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that military action is ongoing in neighboring Ukraine, while another neighbor, Moldova has never been a friend of Pridnestrovie, exerting political and economic pressure. This has only intensified for various reasons in recent years and months. "We must survive under these conditions, and most importantly, we must think about our law enforcement activities, the defense, and the security of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Our independence is the guarantee of our security. Only our security, only our people, only the Pridnestrovian people and the Armed Forces of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic", the President of the PMR emphasized.
