The head of the CEC of the PMR Elena Gorodetskaya told Vadim Krasnoselsky about the meetings held at the site of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation and at the Russian Center for Teaching Election Technologies, whose priority area of work today is interaction with young people. There is an agreement on the participation of citizens living in foreign countries in the "Atmosphere" competition that is held among young people and teachers of specialized disciplines (social studies, history). “This competition is interesting because, being a platform for analytical, research, creative work, it motivates young people to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, as well as the prospects of participating in similar events at other venues. By September, Pridnestrovians will be able to apply for participation in the competition,” noted Elena Gorodetskaya. Another interesting point is that in 2020, the Russian center for training in electoral technologies will have webinars and training modules: members of Pridnestrovian election commissions have the opportunity to participate in it. The head of the Pridnestrovian Central Election Commission recalled that on November 29, 2020, a single voting day will be held in Pridnestrovie.
The practical outcome of the working dialogue of Elena Gorodetskaya with the leadership of the Russian Council of Youth and Children's Associations was the agreement to provide Pridnestrovians with the opportunity to visit the Dialog camp, as well as participate in organized forums.
The head of the CEC of the PMR told the President about the plan of activities for the Day of the Young Voter that will be held at the end of March this year. Elena Gorodetskaya thanked Vadim Krasnoselsky for his initiative to create youth election commissions, which currently include 131 people. “Many guys are actively involved in the work. They realize themselves in volunteering and even conduct lectures among schoolchildren on topics that are introduced into the electoral process. About 10 such lectures are planned in Tiraspol,” said Elena Gorodetskaya. She reported that on February 16, youth election commissions will conduct a nationwide survey among young people from 18 to 30 years. Respondents will be asked, for example, about their desire to participate in elections and about which channel for getting information about candidates is preferred. The results of the survey will be announced on March 19 in a political dispute, in which children from schools, students, representatives of youth election commissions, the youth parliament, political parties, and specialists with experience in organizing and conducting elections will take part. The program of activities for the Day of the Young Voter also includes the holding of thematic games and the organization of an open day at the CEC of the PMR, Elena Gorodetskaya added.
Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the importance of the work of the Central Election Commission with young people, noting that it should be expanded and intensified in the future. “It is necessary at the initial stage to explain and show young people what the electoral process is in order to generate political activity and interest in this process. It is very important for us, who will be parliamentarians, deputies of district and city Councils. The activity of the Council creates and ensures the implementation of the principle of checks and balances. In any case, the rule of law is significant, and who adopts laws? Only the Supreme Council, in which concrete people work. When these people are ready to work, are interested in the result, have the necessary qualifications, a high-quality legal framework will be formed in the state, the President emphasized.
