The first days of March became tragic for the Pridnestrovian people 29 years ago – large-scale aggression of Moldova began, the bloody war was provoked, which took many lives, including civilians.
The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky was in Dubossary today, where shots sounded on the night of March 1-2, 1992. The PMR President lowered the flowers to each of the 34 graves as well as to the stone slab erected in memory of the defenders of Pridnestrovie, located at the Memorial Complex of Military Glory in the city of Dubossary. The heads of state authorities and administration, the state administration and the city council, military personnel, members of public organizations, residents of Dubossary and guests of the city took part in the mourning ceremony. The memory of the fallen heroes was honored with a Minute of silence.
Vadim Krasnoselsky at the end of the ceremony talked with the defenders of Pridnestrovie and journalists. He said that nationalist attacks towards the Pridnestrovians began even before the spring of 1992. In March, Moldova switched from inciting pinpoint conflict situations to large-scale aggression.
“On March 2, 1992, Moldovan special forces attacked houses where women and children lived, the wives of officers of the former 14th Army. They came to the rescue of the defenders of Pridnestrovie, giving their lives, protecting women and children. On June 19, 1992, Moldova tried to put an end to this war already by the invasion of the city of Bendery. 29 years ago. It would seem that there is enough time to understand, to comprehend, to come to the understanding that it was all in vain, and that it was impossible to resolve the issue. It amazes me how the virus of nationalism can poison memory and consciousness so quickly. Those people who gave the order to invade after all, those people who sent to kill peaceful people, quite recently led the Moldavian SSR, led the fraternal people. What happened to them? It seems that they have not gone crazy. Virus. The virus of nationalism as history shows can poison the brain very quickly and lead to inappropriate actions. That's the trouble. Has anything changed in 29 years? I doubt it. Yes, generations have grown, but those who want the blood of revanchism are still alive”, said Vadim Krasnoselsky. The PMR President recalled the documents adopted by Moldova, by which it made Pridnestrovie independent in fact, and that the Moldovan authorities, directing their weapons towards Pridnestrovians - people whom they considered their own citizens, perfectly understood that there was nothing to defend, that they ruined a single state with their own hands.
Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that he does not accept the idea imposed by some Moldovan politicians that one should forget the past, accept and live in the future. The PMR President recalled that no one took responsibility during almost three decades for the crimes of the early 90s of the last century, committed by Moldovan nationalists on the Pridnestrovian land.
