The meeting of the Military Collegium of the Ministry of Defense of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is devoted to the results of activities in 2018 and plans to further strengthen the defense capability of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The speakers - deputy defense ministers - informed about the state of combat and mobilization readiness, logistical and financial support, the state of weapons and equipment. It was about discipline in the army and work, aimed at increasing the prestige of the armed forces.
The President was informed that combat training in the reporting period was conducted according to established plans, and its intensity has increased markedly compared to previous years. A serious advantage, for example, indicators related to the conduct of live firing are three times more than in 2017. Innovation of 2018 - combat mortar shooting "Master of Artillery Fire". In addition, on the Day of Rocket Forces and Artillery, demonstration firing of all types of artillery weapons was conducted.
Education remains an important component. The Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the PMR is successfully functioning. Since September 2019, it is planned to recruit cadets who will be trained in the specialty "Commander of a tank unit". The Tiraspol Suvorov Military School took its place in the training system of the army elite. The students demonstrate a high level of knowledge, military and sports training. Sport in the armed forces pay increased attention. The divisions have created conditions for conducting classes in various areas. The SKA was established in cities and regions of the republic. Vadim Krasnoselsky, noting a good level of combat and physical training, urged to strive for further improvement of results. Speaking about the sports movement, the President noted that it is necessary to encourage the desire of servicemen to join it, noting that playing sports has a positive effect for army discipline.
The current academic year has been declared in the Pridnestrovian Armed Forces a year of high responsibility of commanders to maintain combat readiness of weapons and military equipment to strengthen military discipline, law and order. If we talk about 2018, the number of offenses in the army declined: a marked decrease in the number of crimes is associated with the introduction of the working day regime and the adoption of other measures at the state level aimed at improving the image of the armed forces. For example, 128 soldiers-conscripts took advantage of the possibility of combining military service with training in high school. A positive factor is the improvement of the civil society control system: each military unit has parent committees.
They spoke in the course of the Military Collegium about uniforms, food and the state of the housing fund of the armed forces. The commander-in-chief was informed that the soldiers of the urgent service were provided with clothing and equipment in full, the ceremonial uniform and the winter ceremonial and especially ceremonial uniform of the soldiers of the Guard of Honor were removed. The question of the conditions in which the army service is held under the special control of the President. The development of the armed forces is one of the directions reflected in Strategy 2026.
The commander-in-chief has set a number of specific tasks before the leadership of the Ministry of Defense. Among them there are the optimization of the work of the military registration and enlistment offices (the necessary funds have already been allocated for the creation of a single electronic base and the purchase of necessary equipment) and the centralization of medical examinations, which, according to the President, will minimize the corruption component.
As for the military infrastructure, its gradual improvement is carried out, including at the expense of the capital investment fund. Work in this direction will continue this year: the target state program includes 9 objects under the Ministry of Defense. At the same time, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that it is equally important to create comfortable conditions for service as soldiers and contract servicemen.
The Ministry of Defense is charged with providing personnel with modern (high-quality and comfortable) clothing, and prosecutors to take special control over the issue of compliance with food standards. The government aims to provide 100 percent funding for the relevant budget items.
Taking into account emerging growth of the economy, the level of payments to servicemen will gradually increase within the budget’s possibilities, the President noted. He considers the participation of the Ministry of Defense in the program of capital construction of housing for state employees to be an important aspect.
Vadim Krasnoselsky addressed special thanks to the ministry’s leadership for the implementation of “The Dniester Dawns” project. The treatment and health complex was on the verge of closure, but thanks to the made efforts, reasonable administration and economic approach, the unprofitable company was able to reanimate. As a result, not only military personnel, but also pensioners, children, and other categories of citizens were able to rest and recuperate in the territory of Pridnestrovie.
The President spoke about the socialization of the army. He noted the importance of the active participation of servicemen, pupils of the Suvorov military college and cadets in the public life of the country, in various events, actions and programs. In addition, the President noted the need of development of awareness, thanks to which a positive image of the Pridnestrovian army is taking shape.
Vadim Krasnoselsky estimated the activities of the Ministry of Defense following the results of 2018 as satisfactory, aiming the members of the Military Collegium to continue to work effectively to strengthen the country's defense capability.
