The main event of today's holiday is the Military Parade dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. It took place in the capital of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, on the square named after Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov, simultaneously with the parade on Red Square in Moscow.
The PMR President, who arrived at the tribunes, greeted the veterans. Servicemen of the Guard of Honor Company (for more than two decades, obligatory participants in military parades) brought the State flags of the PMR and the Russian Federation, as well as the Victory Banner was driven to the square to the sounds of the legendary work of the composer Aleksandrov, "The Sacred War". The parade was commanded by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Pavel Mikhailov, the parade was inspected by the Minister of Defense of the PMR Oleg Obruchkov. After bypassing the parade crews, he reported to the Commander-in-Chief of his readiness for the parade. The President addressed words of gratitude to the veterans, noting that Pridnestrovians bow before them, their unforgettable heroism, dedication and courage. The President emphasized that every day the number of participants in the Great Patriotic War is becoming less and less, and urged not to leave without attention and care, to pass on experience and covenants to new generations. Addressing the veterans, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized, that they without exaggeration, are a heroic, legendary generation of winners. After all, only brave and strong spirit people who selflessly love Motherland and the people can withstand the befallen trials.
