The Commander-in-Chief congratulated the Pridnestrovian army on the 33rd anniversary of the creation of the PMR Armed Forces

A ceremonial meeting on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the PMR Armed Forces was held in the large hall of the Palace of the Republic. The Commander-in-Chief Vadim Krasnoselsky arrived to congratulate the servicemen.

A film was shown to the audience, telling about the prerequisites for the formation, development and current realities of the Pridnestrovian army. The PMR Defense Minister Oleg Obruchkov recalled afterwards that the modern history of the Pridnestrovian army began with the creation of the Republican Guard. The corresponding resolution was signed on September 6, 1991. The minister spoke about the feat of the defenders of Pridnestrovie, who gave their lives for the independence of the republic. The memory of the fallen was honored with a minute of silence. The Minister of Defense focused on the armed forces development, spoke about the achievements and modern approaches to the training of personnel. He spoke about the educational, upbringing and social functions of the ministry. He spoke about infrastructural transformations, a new level of equipment for military units and provision of servicemen.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the cardinal changes in the Pridnestrovian army. He emphasized that the Pridnestrovian statehood and the history of the armed forces of the republic are inextricably linked, recalling that the army of the young republic was created in the conditions of unfriendliness of the neighboring country and its manifestations of nationalism and terrorism. Vadim Krasnoselsky said that the armed forces of various states, the security forces of any country and all historical periods have common features, such as courage, duty, loyalty to the oath, feat. Technologies and, as a result, tactics change at the same time. The PMR President emphasized that Pridnestrovie has everything to defend the country, and focused the personnel on further development, improvement, and constant readiness to defend its people. 

The President emphasized the importance of creating a full-fledged system of personnel training. The Suvorov College and the Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense operate in the republic. Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled that a decent infrastructure is being created for these educational institutions. Introducing personnel to Orthodox values ​​is also important, the President noted.

"Of course, we have armed forces, but we are talking exclusively about protecting the Pridnestrovian people. Exclusively about protection. I have repeatedly said that I am against war. I am the politician who is against war," Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized. He congratulated future and current servicemen, as well as veterans of the Armed Forces of the PMR on the holiday, wishing everyone health, happiness, prosperity, and peace to the republic. The head of state presented state awards to the most distinguished representatives of the PMR Ministry of Defense.

A festive concert, prepared by musicians and soloists of the orchestra of the General Staff of the PMR Armed Forces with the participation of the children's choir of the Rachmaninov Music School was held at the end of the ceremonial meeting.
