The PMR President communicated with the Russian ambassador

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov arrived in Pridnestrovie on the occasion of the Day of liberation of Tiraspol from the German-Romanian invaders. The diplomat took part in a festive meeting, witnessed the reconstruction of the Victory Banner hoisting over the theater, walked with the people of Tiraspol to the Memorial of Glory where he laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and the graves of the defenders. After the celebrations, the ambassador arrived at the Presidential Executive Office of the PMR. Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked Oleg Vasnetsov for his congratulations. Interlocutors, exchanging impressions, proudly noted how many young people participated in the march and spoke with regret about how few veterans. It was about the fact that the Great Patriotic War and the Victory - this is what still unites the peoples and states, scattered today by geopolitics, but forever connected by a common heroic past. “We have one common Victory - the Victory over fascism. The Soviet people, who united people of different nationalities won this war and made it possible for Europe to develop without fascism and Nazism. It is important to remember and remind this to those who are trying to cst doubt on the great feat of the Soviet people - soldiers and generals, old people, women and children, all who by their feat of arms, their labor feat brought the victory on the 9th of May, 1945”, stated Vadim Krasnoselsky.

The Russian ambassador, noting that he was participating in events dedicated to the Day of Liberation of Tiraspol for the first time, noted that he was impressed by the organization and the enthusiasm of the participants, including people from different generations. He is sure that this emotional moral charge will allow to solve many problems and questions that Pridnestrovian leadership puts not only to the administration, but also to the younger generation. We need to pass the baton to the youth. Today is largely indicative. The words of one of the veterans have sunk into soul. We were going, it was drizzling rain, he said that it is very good that it is raining, and bombs are not falling. This is, indeed, a great merit of these people, a great merit of those who did not live to this day. The memory of them must be undoubtedly cherished. Unfortunately, we are faced with cases of falsification of history, oblivion of the memory of the heroic feat of the Soviet people. Oleg Vasnetsov said that joint task of all people with commonsense to oppose this in every way and demonstrate true sacrifice in the name of the Great Victory.

The meeting participants talked about topics related to working days, in particular, about the course of the negotiation process in the “5 + 2” format, noting its importance, relevance and effectiveness. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the role of Russia in the “Permanent Conference ...” format, noting that all Pridnestrovian-Moldovan agreements were preceded by consultations with Russian colleagues as representatives of the guarantor country. “We want no stagnation in the negotiation process. It is necessary to go forward, not to stop, not to stagnate. There are still unsolved questions, there are a lot of them. Issues on telecommunications, banking and others remain on the agenda,” the PMR President recalled, emphasizing that Pridnestrovie considers it appropriate to hold the next meeting of the “5 + 2” format.

Oleg Vasnetsov emphasized that Russia is still attentive to the Pridnestrovie issue and assured further support.

The interlocutors discussed various topics - both the negotiation agenda and the Russian-Pridnestrovian interaction.
