Despite carrying out repair and reconstruction work, the rally was held at the capital's Memorial of Glory today. It is dedicated to the memory of the fighters of the Tiraspol battalion of the Republican Guard, who died on March 3, 1992. On that day, a fight took place in the village of Kochiery, Dubossary district, during which four Tiraspol residents were killed while defending wives and children of military personnel. The names of Vasily Voronkov, Leonid Tolstenko, Sergey Shinkov and Sergey Titovsky are carved on memorial plates at the Eternal Flame, to which fresh flowers lay today.
During the memorable event, the tragic events of 28 years ago were recalled. They talked about the role of the guard, noting that the Tiraspol battalion created in 1991 laid the foundation for the future PMR Armed Forces. Addressing the participants in the memorial event, the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky regretted that the undeclared but started by Moldova in March 1992 war continued against the Pridnestrovian people. “Unfortunately, the flywheel of crimes launched by Moldova did not stop there. There were months of hostilities in the Dubossary district, then the invasion of Moldovan armed forces to the peaceful town Bendery. There were casualties among the civilian population. Almost 28 years have passed since the end of hostilities. What did we see yesterday? Yesterday, former participants in the hostilities from Moldova went to the square with revenge slogans and demands. What have they changed? Nothing. Aggression and the desire to kill. Not a single politician has repented of the deed committed by Moldova in Pridnestrovie for 28 years. Participants in hostilities from Moldova say they will not apologize. Do we Pridnestrovians need their apologies? We do not need. We need a legal and historical assessment of the crimes of Moldova against the Pridnestrovian people - the killing of civilians, the commission of terrorist acts on the territory of Pridnestrovie. Movement towards is impossible without this. We have grown over 28 years new generations that have their own history, different values, and most importantly, different heroes. They have heroes who attacked and killed civilians, our heroes defended these peaceful people. I am amazed at the illusions of some people that, when coexisting with Moldova, the Pridnestrovians will be great. I can list what will happen: a ban on Russian language, Moldavian and other languages besides Romanian, a ban on Russian schools, destruction of Pridnestrovian statehood, everything and everyone involved in protecting Pridnestrovie. This is what Moldovan politicians are preparing for us. We need to really assess the situation,” the PMR President emphasized. Vadim Krasnoselsky said that the Pridnestrovian people are strong in their history and attitude towards it, fidelity to their native land and memory of the deed of their ancestors.
The rally participants laid fresh flowers at the graves of the defenders. The President talked with family members of the deceased heroes.
