Opening the event, Vadim Krasnoselsky outlined the urgent necessity for such meetings. The President noted that events in the university, the country and the world require the exchange of information and opinions.
The traditional direction of the conversation for collective discussions is history. Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the importance of knowledge, a correct assessment of past events and conclusions from history lessons. The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic considers history, as well as literature, to be important in building statehood, since these very factors form the language, traditions, culture. Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled that the identity of the Soviet people as a multinational family was formed and vividly represented in the 60-80s of the last century. The parade of sovereignties that followed destroyed not only a large country, but also the identity of a single people. Each republic went its own way. Moldova abandoned everything originally Moldovan, preferring Romanianization. Pridnestrovie has formed its own state and its people with its own identity – multinational and multilingual.
The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic spoke about the prerequisites and creation of modern Pridnestrovie, the current situation in the country, the course of the negotiation process, the fight against the pandemic, and infrastructure reforms in the republic. The difficulties faced by Pridnestrovie, including those artificially created by Moldova, did not go unnoticed. Issues of geopolitics were touched upon. Vadim Krasnoselsky noted in this context that opinions can be different, but the truth is always the same. They talked about the events taking place today abroad and their impact on the state of affairs in Pridnestrovie.
The interlocutors thanked Vadim Krasnoselsky for the informational and analytical part of the meeting, emphasizing that listening to the lecturer represented by the Head of the country is a great honor.
The President in the dialogue part of the event was addressed with issues of concern to the university community. They asked about his vision of the further development of the Pridnestrovian State University as a scientific and educational center and the prospects for further infrastructural changes initiated and actively implemented on the initiative of Vadim Krasnoselsky. The PMR President noted that his plans included a complete reconstruction of university buildings within five years. The roofs and facades were put in order during the first year, windows of the head buildings were replaced, and the university territories were landscaped. This year it is planned to complete the overhaul of "A" building. In addition, 6 million rubles were allocated for the renovation of furniture and equipment. A large amount of work has been carried out in university dormitories to improve the life of students. The reconstruction of the campus continues. The need for a complete replacement of engineering communications was identified in the course of the work, which required additional financial resources and time. They expect to undertake the repair of "B" and "C" buildings next year. Vadim Krasnoselsky considers important the decision to build medical center on the territory of Republican Clinical Hospital, which will become an effective platform for enhancing the practice-oriented education of students of the medical faculty of the Pridnestrovian State University. They discussed the issue of creating conditions for involving the student and teaching community in physical culture and sports. The "Record" sports club was mentioned. It was officially approved as a structural subdivision of the Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University in March of this year. The President was told about plans to increase the level of involvement in sports life to 40% of students and 20% of teachers in the near future. The educational institution has the necessary personnel, enough resources to provide sports equipment. At the same time, there are difficulties with the organization and equipment of the training and physical education base. They appealed to the President with a request to assist in the construction, repair, equipment of sports halls, outdoor sports grounds, playing fields. Vadim Krasnoselsky will be presented in the near future with a complete list of university and sports facilities that need repair and equipment or are planned for construction in order to make a decision on their inclusion in the work schedule.
Topical issues for the participants of the meeting are the state support of young professionals and the provision of housing for university employees. The issue that university professors who have devoted many years to the field of education do not fall under the law on subsidizing the purchase of housing was raised at the meeting. The President instructed to investigate and make adjustments to the existing norms if necessary.
Another important issue for graduates is employment. It is noted that budgetary organizations often refuse graduates who do not have work experience. Vadim Krasnoselsky considers such an approach on the part of government agencies and state-funded institutions to be unacceptable. He noted that this issue will be included in the agenda of one of the next working meetings under the President.
Among the topics raised today in the course of conversation with the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is the volunteer movement. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed his gratitude to its participants for their desire to be useful to the country. Various areas of voluntary and volunteer activities were discussed – historical and archaeological work, environmental conservation, improvement and landscaping of settlements, patriotic education, and assistance to those in need, in particular during the coronavirus pandemic.
They asked about seemingly simple things, for example, about the functioning of university cafeterias. This year, the organization of meals in the buildings of the Pridnestrovian State University had to be abandoned due to the instability of the functioning of the university in the online mode. Representative of the university management Vladislav Sokolov said that the university's catering departments will resume full-fledged work from September 1 of this year, noting that this area has been transferred to an outsourcing system.
The issue of fakes about mining ofk, i.nstitutions, including educational ones, did not remain without discussion. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that not a single message will be ignored, no matter how numerous and obviously provocative they may be, since it is about the safety of citizens. The President said that Pridnestrovian law enforcement officers detained two intruders from among local residents. As for the main array of messages, they are pouring into the information environment from outside the republic, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted, calling what is happening an element of a hybrid war that has taken over the world.
Concluding the meeting, the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic wished peace to the interlocutors – inside every person and on their native land.
