The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky visited the Tiraspol-Dubossary diocese. The visit was connected with the anniversary of the bishop. His Eminence Bishop Sawa celebrated his 65th birthday today. The President arrived to personally congratulate and express respect to the Archbishop.
Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the role of faith and the development of Orthodoxy in the territory of Pridnestrovie. He mentioned in this context the process of formation of the linguistic culture of the Pridnestrovian region, emphasizing that its components are customs, traditions, language and faith (in the case of Pridnestrovie – Orthodoxy). The President recalled that at the very beginning of the modern stage of Pridnestrovian history there were four Orthodox parishes here, today there are more than 140. The PMR President mentioned Alexander Nevsky, noting that he was not only a successful commander, but a competent politician who made a fateful choice in favor preservation of the Orthodox faith. According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Sawa successfully continues the work of strengthening and developing the Orthodox faith. The President awarded the Bishop the Order of Catherine the Great. Presenting the award, the PMR President recalled that the empress expanded the expanses of the Russian Empire not only territorially, but also spiritually. Vadim Krasnoselsky wished the birthday person strength of spirit, health and strength for further service to the Fatherland and the Russian Orthodox Church.
