The PMR President handed over new boats to rowing schools

Representatives of all rowing schools of the republic gathered today at the site of the Rowing Center in Bendery. The occasion is not competitive, but sporty. Representatives of sports schools were given technical passports for new boats. The documents were presented by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky. The boats will be delivered to the training bases today.

They talked at the event about the measures taken at the state level for the development of physical culture and sports, emphasizing that this is one of the priority areas of social policy. It was noted that about fifty sports are cultivated in Pridnestrovie, including 26 Olympic ones. There is a sports movement that unites people with special health needs. There are two national sports. 123 championships and championships of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic were held in the republic in 23 areas during the year, in which seven thousand athletes took part. Excellent achievements of Pridnestrovians in international competitions: 1424 prizes during 2022. The quality of training of athletes is directly related to the state of the material and technical base of sports facilities. Serious progress in this direction in recent years, including in terms of the development of rowing, was noted in the course of the solemn event.

Addressing the participants, the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky noted: “A lot is being done in Pridnestrovie indeed to popularize sports, to attract young people to sports, to introduce a healthy lifestyle. Only agitation is not enough. I have always said and I will repeat again that it is necessary to invest money, labor, skills in the development of sports infrastructure, in logistics, in the construction of good training bases. Rowing is one of the favorite sports in the republic. This is traditional, historical – the Dniester River involves the development of rowing sports. In recent years, a lot has been done to equip rowing bases in cities and regions. Naturally, it is impossible to imagine the development of rowing sports without the organization of the training process, without boats, both rowing and support boats. We managed to acquire five boats – not the last, I hope. They will be distributed among cities and regions where rowing is cultivated. These are Rybnitsa, Dubossary, Grigoriopol, Bendery and Tiraspol. Congratulations on a good purchase. I am sure that the boats will be useful both for organizing the training process and for ensuring the safety of the rowers, of course”.

Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated sportsmen and rowing enthusiasts on the opening of the season, wishing them success and new achievements.
