The President chaired a meeting on preparations for the upcoming Russian elections in Pridnestrovie. Residents of the republic with Russian citizenship will participate in the formation of the new composition of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly. To discuss issues related to the organization of voting, the PMR President invited the heads of the presidential administration, the Government, the Supreme Council, the Central Election Commission, a number of ministries and departments, the Operational Group of Russian Forces in Pridnestrovie as well as the heads of state administrations and chairmen of city councils. The working discussion was held in the video conference mode.
There are 27 polling stations in Pridnestrovie (for comparison, there will be only three in Moldova), it was noted in the course of the meeting. Seven constituencies have been formed. Voting, as well as in Russia in general, will be three days. At the same time, most of the Pridnestrovian sections will work on Sunday, September 19. The opportunity to vote for a candidate for the State Duma deputies will be given within three days to Pridnestrovians at two Tiraspol polling stations (the Palace of the Republic and the House of Officers). In addition, an extended voting period is provided for Russian military personnel and their family members. Separate polling stations will be opened for this category of voters.
High electoral activity is expected among rural residents. An off-site voting is provided for them. A corresponding schedule has been formed. According to preliminary calculations the visiting commissions will have to serve about 13 thousand citizens in general who will not be able to visit stationary polling stations.
80000 protective masks were purchased to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological safety of voting participants. It will be given out by volunteers at the entrance. Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of the PMR Elena Gorodetskaya said in the course of the meeting that automatic hand disinfectants will be installed everywhere. Local administrations provide assistance in organizational work. A cultural and entertainment program is being planned for citizens who arrived at the polling stations and their children. The question of the buffets functioning was discussed, the decision will depend on the epidemiological situation.
Russian delegation will arrive in Pridnestrovie at the end of August. Numerous meetings of candidates for State Duma deputies are planned with Pridnestrovian voters, including with the labor collectives of a number of enterprises. The plans include holding a large-scale forum. Pridnestrovian parliamentarians will assist his organization. It was noted at the meeting that contacts of citizens with future deputies who are to represent the interests of Pridnestrovians in the Russian legislative body should be as dense and productive as possible during the pre-election period and the choice should be deliberate. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that Pridnestrovians responsibly approach their electoral rights and responsibilities, actively participating in the formation of institutions of power, and therefore the future of both Pridnestrovie and Russia.
Recommendations were voiced during the meeting and current instructions were given. Organizational issues will be addressed on the operating level.
